Alpine Head Unit in 2001 LL Bean Outback ... questions...15 Jun 2004 19:07 GMT2
I have a 2001 LL Bean Outback and I want to put in my Alpine in-dash
CD/Receiver. Does this need a DIN Pocket for the installation or not?
What would be needed to install this Alpine in my Outback dash?
Also, where could I get the DIN pockets to take up the space of the
1996 Impreza shakes in the fron end when doing low-speed maneuvers15 Jun 2004 03:53 GMT2
This happens in 1st gear when turning into or coming out of a parking space. The wheel is not turned really sharp, just enough to turn into a space from a perpendicular position.
There is a shaking in the front end when making these turns and it only seems to happen at very low ...
99 OBW - Front End Question15 Jun 2004 01:02 GMT7
I am hearing what sounds like a screeching or scrapping from the front end
of the car .sounds like driver side wheel. The pitch of the noise changes
based on speed. I also hear creeking or scraping like sounds coming from the
same area when turning. I dont know if the Subaru has CV ...
2001CV boots14 Jun 2004 19:37 GMT4
I have a 2001 outback that I love.  My question is, when should I be looking
at replacing the CV boots and what is a fair price for that work?  Any
information is welcome.  Thank you in advance
bearing or rear differential problem?14 Jun 2004 19:26 GMT2
Hey Folks,
When I sat on the rear seat of my 95 Legacy I can hear this fella makes some
noise from the right side on rough road, and I figured it might be the
bearing or rear differential problem. These days it starts to make some
How is the Subaru Subwoofer wired?14 Jun 2004 18:58 GMT1
I have a 2001 Outback LL Bean with the Subaru Subwoofer under the front
passenger seat. I am wondering how this is wired into the Subaru head unit
in the dash. I want to put my Alpine head unit in and am wondering if I can
still use the Subaru Subwoofer with the Alpine head unit.
'05 Baja14 Jun 2004 18:55 GMT2
Any news on the '05 Baja?  Engine: 6 available? I'd like more power but don't feel I want to blow the whole works and go to turbo. My current is an '03 and was lacking cloth heated seats, and power. Otherwise I'll keep the '03 forever, I'm 75 and that may not be much longer the ...
Bulb Replacement14 Jun 2004 18:02 GMT1
The bulb that lights up my gears next to the shifter between the seats just
went out.  I have a 97 Subaru Outback.   Is there an easy way to replace it?
Adding power seat feasible?14 Jun 2004 16:39 GMT2
Been looking at the 05 Legacy wagons. There is a huge (and unjustified
IMHO) price difference of Can$7,700 between the 2.5i and the 2.5
Limited yet nothing is added that I want except the 8-way power
drivers seat which gives me the extra legroom that I need.
What does this button do?14 Jun 2004 08:38 GMT3
1995 Subaru Legacy GT. Brilliant machine I just bought but have a couple of
buttons with know idea what they do. This was imported from Japan with no
manual.
On the dash next to heater looks like rear window de-mister, is this the
Darn Impreza Wheel Bearings!!!14 Jun 2004 05:12 GMT8
So I have done the rear wheel bearings twice on my 97 Impreza L Wagon
and the racket from the driver's side rear is still there.  It still
sounds like a wheel bearing, being louder on right turns (loaded) and
quiter on left turns (unloaded).  It is relatively quiet when you

Here are a few recent 2005 Legacy/Outback reviews I have discovered
online. I have found them helpful in some ways, even though there are
Front End Questions...95 Subaru Legacy LSI13 Jun 2004 04:36 GMT1
I have a vibration in the front end at about 70. Is there a front
horizontal shock absorber like my Toyota has? I am about to get a new set of
tires, but these are still serviceable. I am also looking for a set of tires
that can be used during all seasons and be quiet. The Road ...
What's that rattlin' noise?12 Jun 2004 20:18 GMT2
6 month old 2003 Baja with less than 10k miles on it has recently
developed a noise from underneath the vehicle while under hard
acceleration which sounds like a loose heat shield.  Is it too soon
for this to be the case?
Back from Autozone with codes ... : )12 Jun 2004 19:26 GMT3
Well I took your advice and went to AutoZone and got my check engine
light tested.  It came back with: "P0325 Knock Sensor #1 Circuit
Malfunction Bank #1 or #1 Sensor."  Anyone know what that means?  Advice
on what my next step should be?  The problem has gotten a lot worse, my
