Forester Remote Entry Question08 Jul 2004 03:15 GMT3
Question: 99 Forester "L" w/power door locks. Does not have remote entry
(no black box under dash).  Does anyone have experience installing the
factory remote entry system on one of these vehicles? Does Subaru offer
'00 Outback Wag. - Easy to replace Head-Unit of stereo?08 Jul 2004 02:50 GMT2
I am on the verge of buying a new Head-Unit for my '00 OBW
because Subaru was too backwards to put a cd player in my car when I bought
it. I would like to know if it is easy or not to replace the stock stereo
with the one that I will purchase? I'm not interested in ...
Wheel goes "wop wop wop wop"..07 Jul 2004 21:28 GMT4
Now that it is summer time and we're driving around with the windows open,
especially the passenger side, I notice that the rear passenger side wheels
makes "a lot" of road noise - actually I don't think it is any louder than
the other three, just it is modulated instead of being ...
Valves Rattling07 Jul 2004 19:02 GMT5
This is my first post so please be kind. We have a 1997 Subaru Legacy
Outback and recently the valves are rattling like crazy. Can anyone tell
me if they have had problems like this in the past? Our car has only 90k
on it and I never expected it to develop this issue so soon.
Forester XT tire recomendation...07 Jul 2004 13:52 GMT2
The Geolanders are about shot (outside edge wear from soft sidewalls rolling
under cornering)  Anyone got a good recomendation in the stock size?  I was
hoping to stretch these until I was ready to upsize, but I guess 16k miles
with the way I drive is not too bad.
Forester XT Premium -VS- Outback XT Limited07 Jul 2004 01:44 GMT3
OK, I thought the Forester was the SUV, but looking at the specs, it
would appear that the Outback & Forester are both SUV's ?
The Outback also has almost an inch of increased ground clearance.
Would someone tell me how they differ other than external appearances.
runs rough after or during rain06 Jul 2004 20:52 GMT2
My subrau does not idle. It dies. Also runs rough after driving awhile in
the rain. this can continue the next day if the weather is very humid. I
have replaced the wires already and redid the body grounds. Also replaced
negative battery connector.
Any Yakima roof rack owners here? (for OBW)06 Jul 2004 19:54 GMT9
The story continues.  Anyone with a Yakima roof rack care to enlighten
me?
With sheer dumb luck, I stumbled over a garage sale today and picked
up a 2-bike Yakima roof rack in good condition for...err, delightfully
Want to buy 98 Outback, BUT ..............06 Jul 2004 18:41 GMT6
Im looking at a 98 Subaru Outback, automatic, Limited Edition with only
31,000 km (19,000) miles on it.  I believe the mileage to be correct,
looking at the vehicle--practically no stone chips, engine very clean, log
book in order etc. (Price is $21,000 Australian, which is the ...
Timing for unleaded on 1981 1800?06 Jul 2004 17:27 GMT3
Super and LRP fuel is being phased out this week in Australia. I know that
our 1981 1800 4WD Wagon can use unleaded with just an ignition timing
change.
Standard timing for leaded fuel is 8 BTDC for leaded (Super) fuel.
86 1.8 GL preheater hose06 Jul 2004 17:05 GMT2
Anyone know off hand what size the preheater hose is?  Blew a heater hose
and while replacing it noticed the preheater was looking ragged and torn.
Didn't have anything to measure it with, and raining now so hoping someone
could tell me what the diameter is so can pick up a piece.
Quite unhappy with Legacy marketing in Canada06 Jul 2004 02:05 GMT11
Test drove the 2005 Legacy last week, great car. I want one but have no
need for most options, except a sunroof. But look at the options
packages : anything above the base model is at least 7000$cdn extra.
Want a sunroof and a manual transmission ? Nothing short of a 2.5GT Ldt
Legacy rear seat belt problem05 Jul 2004 17:45 GMT1
I have a 1998 Legacy GTB Wagon. When carrying people around in the back
seats they have been complaining that the seat belts slowly tighten
themselves so that the person can hardly breathe!  They can't simply be
pulled out a little to give some slack either - they have to be ...
Subaru new car distribution. Info needed.05 Jul 2004 17:33 GMT3
Can someone enlighten me as to how the new car distribution system
works? I went to my local dealer the other day, and presented him with
a requirements list on an '05 Forester XT Premium (auto xmsn) in a
specific color.  The accessories I wanted were listed as being port
