Does anyone know if the older Yakima Doublecross towers attach to the 05
Outack factory roof? Yakima only mentions the newer Lowrider towers on their

I just had the Forester rear wiper arm replaced (cracked), and the
replacement didn't include the plastic cover for the bolt where the
arm attaches to the car. Where can I find that part? The online sites
I've tried don't carry it.

I have my eye on a new Forester.  I have a couple of questions.
If it doesn't raise my insurance too much, I would like the turbo model.  
How often does the air filter under the hood scoop need to be replaced?  
How much does the filter cost?

Any preferences out there as far as who should do my Legacy 2.2L automatic
75K miles tranny maintenance?
Do it myself - I'm not exactly a mechanical buffoon but I have NEVER done
anything except check/adjust fluid levels.  Is it extremely complicated?

How do I remove a front Passenger axle from the differential? Does it have a
roll pin or a snap ring?
I have everything on the brake side undone.

hi again from a slightly nervous new/used owner
i recently bought a 2000 outback that began it's life in vermont.  
while on the lift, i noticed that there is already the beginnings of
rust and "possible" corosion on the undercarriage and rear brake

I am thinking about buying a used 90-91 legacy wagon. It looks like at my
price range(~$2500) I can afford one with around 100,000 - 160,000 miles on
it.
Any advice to buying a high mileage legacy? Manual vs Auto, etc??

I recently bought a used 99 Outback SW, 130K mile, Auto. I had the
front brake pads replaced and now am experiencing two (maybe related)
annoyances.
First, every so often, usually after driving maybe 10 minutes, I hear

1. Minor problem - The radio is sometimes dead. No lights at all. There are
6 CDs in the unit, so there are supposed to be 6 little indicators on, but
