Constant engine ticking08 Aug 2004 03:57 GMT4
I just purchased a 98 Subaru Forester with 105,000 miles on it about 2
months ago.  Lately I have started to notice a constant ticking sound
coming from the engine.  At first it only happened at idle, but now it
happens at all engine speeds.
How to disable day-time running lights?08 Aug 2004 03:37 GMT31
Anyknow know how to do this in a '02 WRX?
2.2 motor issues08 Aug 2004 01:17 GMT18
I have a question regarding the 2.2 motor that has been used from 90
until @ 98 or so. I've read that the motors in the 90-94 cars are better
than the later ones.
Any truth to this?
2004 or 2005 Outback h6?07 Aug 2004 14:12 GMT1
I am planning on getting a new (new-to-me) car sometime soon. Probably
next Spring if I can hold out. I want a used Subaru Outback.
Definitely want the H6 engine, and leather, dont really care about
whether it is the LLBean edition or if it has VDC. When I first saw
2005 STI Turbo Problem - Help07 Aug 2004 13:55 GMT19
All,
I have a new 2005 STI and have about 1300 miles on it.  On Saturday I was
out driving it giving it a good ride, but nothing that would be considered
uncalled for giving that it's an STI.
Funny Smell After Revving07 Aug 2004 12:43 GMT3
I bought my '02 WRX two months ago, and just recently started smelling a
plasticy/rubbery burning smell after a medium high rev (4000 rpms or so).
For example, while backing out a friend's steep driveway (moving uphill),
I ran the revs a little high as I brought up the clutch. ...
Hubcap puzzle07 Aug 2004 12:05 GMT3
We have a '94 Legacy wagon, manual trans, two-wheel drive.  A few months
ago, we lost a hubcap.  No problem, I thought, I'll just get one from
the local wrecking yard which has many dead Subarus.  However, despite
their abundance of Subaru hubcaps, there was not a match among ...
Liberty Diagnostics07 Aug 2004 04:45 GMT2
Can anyone out there help me with a "how to" for this? Can it be done
yourself, or must I pay a technician with a "machine that goes bing"?
Thanks everyone...

Why low profile tires on top 2005 Outback?07 Aug 2004 00:56 GMT7
On checking the specs for tires on the Outback 2.5i compared to the
3.0R, they are 225/60 compared to 225/55, meaning a difference of
almost 1/2" in sidewall depth.
With 17" rims on the 3.0R and 16" on the 2.5i I assume the rolling
Subaru and hybrid drive07 Aug 2004 00:36 GMT2
I see that Ford just announced their SUV with hybrid power. They tout 35 city/ 38 highway.  I never would have believed my OB or Baja was considered a "gas guzzler", but it seems it is at _only_ 28 mpg highway.
Anyone heard any news about a Subaru US offering?

Love and marriage and Subaru06 Aug 2004 23:26 GMT11
I thought about buying a Forester, so I came here, and it seemed like I
saw mostly positive posts. I bought the Forester, and it immediately
attracted a vicious hail storm :-(
Today I come back, and it seems like every post is about some horrible

'05 WRX "sway bars" vs. "end links"06 Aug 2004 22:15 GMT17
Just bought an '05 WRX (2.0 Ltr) and live it.  It's already got 1300 miles in a week and a half (yes, I commute a lot).  I find that the car has a lot of body roll though.  I used to drive a Camaro and perhaps am reminiscent of that, but I think the car rolls too much in moderate ...
Squeeky Brakes06 Aug 2004 01:37 GMT6
I just replaced my brakes pads & they squeek some of the time. I bought the
pads from subaru. It there some trick to fix the squeek?  Thanks
2000 Outback "Smokey" undercarriage05 Aug 2004 14:33 GMT10
I've noticed after the past month or so the smell of exhaust coming from the
undercarriage of my 2000 Outback (60k miles), usually noticeable after
driving long distance, or while driving off-road, then coming to a stop.
Recently, I noticed fumes coming from the exhaust system ...
