Subaru Legacy wanted05 Sep 2004 02:27 GMT1
I have a 96 Legacy Wagon. My family are taking it away too often.
I am so pleased with it I want another for cash or PayPal, round about the
same year, fairly low mileage, not white or blue!
Any offers?
STi exhaust mod 04 Sep 2004 21:50 GMT4
I understand that the stock up pipes on the US spec STi are packed
with palladium catalyst. There are several manufacturers of catalyst
free pipes, which claim to reduce throttle lag and midrange hp.
Question: Is it possible to unbolt the stock pipe, remove the catalyst
'01 Forester - Squeaky Brakes04 Sep 2004 15:35 GMT1
Lately, my 2001 Forester's brakes have started squeaking.  (It has the
original brakes and is at approximately 48,000 miles).  When the car's
cold, they don't seem to squeak.  But after 10 minutes or so, after
numerous stops, the squeaking begins.  The performance of the brakes
2003 Forester engine ping04 Sep 2004 12:37 GMT12
I have a ?03 Subaru Forester that started pinging at about 5,000
miles.  I mentioned it to the dealer when it was in for oil change and
the dealer said that they didn?t notice it.  I switched brands of
gasoline but it still continued.  I took it back to the dealer who

airbag info??04 Sep 2004 04:12 GMT2
I hope this does not seem too dumb of a question.  I have to change
some instrument panel bulbs on my 95 Legacy.  Should I disable the airbag
system before I start?  The info I have read says any work in the area of
the components or connecters is risky.  What do you all ...
Factory Tinted glass on the Forester >????04 Sep 2004 01:34 GMT18
Does anyone know if Subaru offers factory tinted glass? I see is
listed as option on many other vehicles, but see no mention whatsover
about tinted glass as an option on the corporate website.
Is it standard and not mentioned, or just not available????
Any hidden info about Impreza GX?03 Sep 2004 11:26 GMT2
Hi..
I'm just searching for a new car at the moment and Subaru Impreza GX
sounded very good, but like I did before with 97/98 A3 I had nothing but
paying for repairs after repairs.

90  Legacy crankshaft pulley off center03 Sep 2004 02:41 GMT1
The crankshft pulley of my 191000 miles legacy  is running off the
center when in idle speed. It returns to normal at higher speed.
The pulley nut feels tight.
Is there a bearing there turning bad? Any suggestion I need to do?
To replace transfer clutch or not...03 Sep 2004 01:50 GMT6
When starting my 1996 Subaru Legacy Wagon L, the "AT Oil Temp" light
flashes 10 to 15 times and then stops. The dealer says the car needs a new
transfer clutch ($1400) because my viscous coupling is binding. Shouldn't I
have other symptoms if something this serious (and expensive) ...
05 Forester XT Sound03 Sep 2004 00:58 GMT1
My XT (new) makes a clacking (almost VW Combi) sound in the 2 to 3,000 rpm range under acceleration
Is this just the 'boxer' sound?
Switching to Front Wheel drive with the fuse?02 Sep 2004 21:52 GMT5
I have a 1995 Legacy Wagon  AWD w/ 130,000 miles. The center differencial
has been acting up during slower turning causing the wheels to bite and make
steering difficult. I know this would probably be a major cost to repair and
I don't want to put more $ in to this car. So I ...
1998 Forester - Emissions Testing Drive Cycle02 Sep 2004 17:24 GMT13
My Forester had a weak battery so I brought it in for the once over.
The shop let the car sit for a week and during that time the battery
went dead.  I received a call that they couldn?t do the Pennsylvania
Emissions test because they get a "not ready for testing" code.  I
