I have a manual transmission 05 Impreza RS wagon as a commuter car. I'm
reading the literature about the transmissions and it appears as though
the automatic is more advanced in that it can electronically distribute
power to the individual wheels. The manual seems stuck at a 50/50

I know there are lots of gas additives that raise octane, but they're
all really expensive for everyday use.

Test-drove my first Legacy Turbo today. High mileage (185k+) but
looked and sounded OK apart from the noisy exhaust the previous owner
had fitted - given its reputation as a Q-car I didn't think it is
particularly sensible to stick a loud exhaust on it.
