How easy is replacing rear anti-roll bar?25 Sep 2004 15:25 GMT2
Want to beef up my 2.5RS to 18mm.  It looks like this should be
stupid-easy to pull off and swap.  Is that true?

One of my headlights works intermittently, I am looking for
suggestions as to where to start troubleshooting.
Thanks
front end noise on '98 outback legacy: wheel bearing? repair costs?25 Sep 2004 10:11 GMT1
greetings y'all!
i'm getting a "revolving noise" in the front end which increases in
volume, hitting its worst levels between 55-60 mph.  this noise is
there even if i have the clutch all the way down but seems to nearly
OEM Racks25 Sep 2004 01:00 GMT8
I've been studying rack systems lately.  I've learned there are 3
popular choices, thule (square), yakima(round), and the oem racks which
are made by yakima but flat or wing shaped instead of round.  I have a
subaru forester, but in my research, I've noticed that the oem racks on ...
Scored flywheel??24 Sep 2004 23:06 GMT3
So my early  '03 Forester, 19k miles,  is at the dealer to get the none-too-smooth
clutch replaced under the clutch-judder TSB.
They call me and tell me the flywheel is scored, so they're replacing it too,
and it should arrive tomorrow.
best oil filter wrench for wrx?24 Sep 2004 18:32 GMT5
What is the best oil filter wrench for wrx?
The common metal band wrench doesn't work very well because the oil filter
is surrounded by other stuff. What looks like may work well are something
that graps the filter and allow a socket wrench to be attached below the

Ideas/thoughts on Subaru's upscale movement?24 Sep 2004 17:54 GMT49
Most of you hardcore Subaru addicts are probably aware of Subaru's attempt
to move upscale.  Recent readings indicate that they are apparently gunning
for BMW and Audi.  As amused as I would be to see Subaru outsell Audi and
BMW, I just don't see that happening.  And quite frankly, ...
'99 OBS rear seat question24 Sep 2004 09:15 GMT6
I have a pre-owned 99 Outback Sport.  I believe that when the rear seats are
folded down, there should be some type of strap to hold them down (or maybe
even flat).  There's a buckle-looking-thingie on the top rear of the seat,
and there's a hook at the base of the seat.  If ...
WRX and blow off valves24 Sep 2004 06:00 GMT16
Can someone PLEASE explain this. Why are these people, yes the ones that go
tearing by you, shift gears and make the "whoosh" noise, followed by a
backfire, doing this to their cars? Do they not realize that the atmo venting
BOV is sucking dirty air at idle, and not doing a damn ...
Automatic vs. Manual24 Sep 2004 01:29 GMT95
I have a manual transmission 05 Impreza RS wagon as a commuter car. I'm
reading the literature about the transmissions and it appears as though
the automatic is more advanced in that it can electronically distribute
power to the individual wheels. The manual seems stuck at a 50/50
How to increase gas octane23 Sep 2004 21:30 GMT13
I know there are lots of gas additives that raise octane, but they're
all really expensive for everyday use.
Anybody know what chemical and in what amount is needed to raise
octane from 93 R+M to, like 96?
Oil Leak23 Sep 2004 00:24 GMT8
I just noticed that I have a small oil leak under the front of the engine.
The oil seems to be dripping down through the plastic timing belt cover.
More oil seems to leak after a period of highway speed driving. My first
guess is that the crankshaft oil seal  is the culprit. Are ...
Legacy Turbo gearchange question22 Sep 2004 21:25 GMT12
Test-drove my first Legacy Turbo today. High mileage (185k+) but
looked and sounded OK apart from the noisy exhaust the previous owner
had fitted - given its reputation as a Q-car I didn't think it is
particularly sensible to stick a loud exhaust on it.
