Loss of power going up steep hills. Any ideas??13 Sep 2004 14:42 GMT7
I have a 1997 doutback sports (2.2l engine) which has rarely given
me any trouble. But last week on a long, long drive from Winnipeg to
Toronto I noticed that it started loosing power (speed) quite
dramatically when driving up steep hills. After a bit of analytical
2000 OBW muffler advice .. dealer or someone else?13 Sep 2004 05:41 GMT2
hi gang-
my 2000 outback wagon had the muffler and tailpipe split this
afternoon, right where the pipe meets the front of the muffler  ( back
muffler) so there's no room for a repair.    i have to get this done
Subarau Outback 2005 & XM Satellite radio?...can't get it without crappy FM modulation!13 Sep 2004 05:26 GMT7
Folks,
I just bought an Outback Limited 2005. I love the car but have been
quite annoyed to realize that I can't get an XM satellite radio
installed without using crappy (non-radio-connected) FM modulation?
Intake Air Dam13 Sep 2004 01:30 GMT2
As I was looking under the hood of my '04 2.5 naturally asperated
Outback I noticed an interesting feature. On the underside of the hood
there is an air dam that, when the hood is closed, appears to block a
significant portion of the intake. It is only a cheap plastic piece.
brake fluid13 Sep 2004 00:20 GMT6
Does anyone know what kind of brake fluid Subarus use, especially the 2000
Outback Wagon? I have just bought some Dot 3 brake fluid for my other car,
and was wondering if the Subaru will take the same spec?

Another oil filter washer question12 Sep 2004 18:08 GMT15
Once the dealer sold crush washers, now they just sell
solid copper washers.  A question occurred to me:
Would a hard rubber (ie such as sold for garden hoses)
washer work, or would the oil pan get too hot?  Any
Got a ticket12 Sep 2004 01:15 GMT49
got a ticket the other day for exhibition driving because the cop allegedly
saw me "spin out" with my 02 automatic WRX.  I asked him which tires he saw
spin, and he said the front ones, just like every other import I see driving
around.  Then I asked if he was sure about that since ...
WRX and SAAB 92x12 Sep 2004 01:14 GMT4
I recently heard a radio advertisement about the Saab 92x, and the "optional"
227hp turbocharged engine, and "sport tuned suspension". I knew for a while
they were going to use the WRX drivetrain in this thing. Well, I seen one, but
didnt get to open the hood or anything. The one ...

Replacement headlight bulb for 2001 Forrester?11 Sep 2004 18:05 GMT5
Greetings all!
I have to replace the bulb for one of the headlights on my 2001
Forrester L.  When I went to the auto supply shop, I became a little
confused, so I thought I'd seek clarification in this newsgroup.
mushy brakes on Y2K Outback11 Sep 2004 16:15 GMT5
I have lived with mushy brakes on my Outback since I bought it new.  I
have bled the brakes, replaced the pads, etc and the brakes are still
mushy.
Is this normal for the Outback?  Does anybody have any ideas?
WRX intercooler hoses wont stay on!11 Sep 2004 15:53 GMT4
Does anyone else have a problem with Samco hoses "slipping" off of the turbo
outlet? This is very irritating when you have to pull over in the rain and
reposition a stupid clamp every other day.
05 WRX Wheels11 Sep 2004 05:13 GMT9
I heard that the 05 WRX changed the lug pattern of the wheels from 5x100mm
to 5x114mm.  I've also heard it stayed the same as last year.
Which is it?
Improvements year-to-year of the WRX11 Sep 2004 03:40 GMT14
is there any big improvements each year with the WRX?  I'm looking at
getting a used one and I don't want to miss out.  It looks like they are
basically the same.  Same power, couple body modifications.  I actually like
the bug eye headlights on the older ones.  Is there anything ...
'03 Baja Cruise Control10 Sep 2004 20:32 GMT1
If I'm going down the road on cruise control at say 65 miles per hour,
then slow down using the cruise control stalk to say 60, the car runs
kind of rough as if the brakes are being applied on and off.  This is
especially true when I am on a downgrade.  Anybody else experience
