Dealer Service Prices11 Oct 2004 17:39 GMT3
I just want to bitch.
We just took my wife's 1999 Forester in for its 30,000 mile service.  (That's
right, the car will be six years old next month and only has 30,000 miles on
it.  Talk about little old ladies...  and take into account that the 30,000

Recently my wife had a blowout on the Interstate in Washington in her 2004
Forester and was stuck on the median.  She used her cell phone to call Sub
roadside assistance.  The operator was located somewhere in the Southwest.
She was not able to find the location and told my wife ...
URGENT! Immobiliser Problem10 Oct 2004 19:53 GMT4
Have borrowed a friends WRX sports wagon and have been driving it
happily for 1.5hrs or so, just pulled up to look at the map and now I
can't start it again. I think it's a problem with the immobiliser
partly because the red light flashes when I try and start the car and
I need a mechanic referral in the NYC area10 Oct 2004 14:31 GMT1
I just found out that Major Subaru in LIC, who I purchased my car from
is no longer handling Subaru's.  I figure now is a good time to find a
new mechanic for my 4 year old 2001 Outback ltd., which has only 30k
on it.  Any reccomendations out there would be appreciated. Manhattan

My daughter has a 98 Forester and is having some troubles.
I haven't seen the car, so I don't know much about it.
I would like to know if the Subaru repair manual is the only one
around, or is there a Haynes or other manual?

98 Legacy OBD2 code P042009 Oct 2004 03:07 GMT2
The car has 150,000 Km's (90,000 miles?). It has been flawless, until
the MIL - P0420. Subaru dealer wanted to play "Replace parts til he's
broke"  I have changed the rear O2 sensor, now have a new catalytic
converter. I do not wish to just keep throwing parts at it. I thought

Does anyone have any info on the performance of this model, or have a good

brake changing tip for 01 Outback wagon08 Oct 2004 22:38 GMT6
Just did the rear pads on my 01 Outback at 65k miles.  They're cute

the front around 58k.  This car must be heavy because my original
front pads on my Mazda 626 lasted till 90k, and I didn't have to

Dear Subaru fans,  Is it possible to repair an idle air control solenoid
valve by either pouring a 16 oz. con of GM top engine cleaner through the
