Recommend shop for 60K in S.F. Bay Area?08 Oct 2004 17:04 GMT2
Newbie here,
I'm not mechanically gifted, don't even do oil changes myself. I need
to do my 60K but apparently dealer prices are in the $600 range! Ugh!
Jobless at the moment. I've got a 2002 Impreza Outback Sport Wagon.
New tires affecting gas mileage on WRX08 Oct 2004 07:46 GMT16
A few months ago I changed tires on my WRX from the stock Bridgestone which
had lasted nearly 40K miles to Bridgestone 950's. The difference in both
ride, noise and handling was night and day compared with the stockers.
However, immediately following that my gas mileage dropped ...
Brake and clutch pedal covers on '02 WRX08 Oct 2004 06:41 GMT3
I managed to get chewing gum on the pedal covers of my "Rex".  Instead
of spending time upside down under the dash cleaning them off the old fashioned
way, I'd like to remove them and take them inside for a trip through the
dishwasher.  Don't worry, I'm single.
Timing belts07 Oct 2004 23:26 GMT24
I bought an '01 OBW a month ago, with 36000 mi. on it. Very well kept-up,
appears near new. So I'm happy as a clam and then, just as I'm falling asleep
one night, I remember talking with my girlfriend's brother back in 1991 or so.
He had a Subie and the timing belt had just ...
Incentives for October?07 Oct 2004 18:16 GMT1
Does anyone know whether the financing and rebate incentives from September
($1250 and 1.9%) carried over into October?  I hear rumors that the
financing is still available, but I have not seen any mention of the
rebates.
Australian Rally Championships photos07 Oct 2004 18:10 GMT1
Some pics from the weekend - Subaru 1-2-3 on the podium!
On Friday there were a few hours of shakedown/media trials on a short track
at De Bortoli vineyard, an hour out of Melbourne, then a ceremonial start in
Melb city that night. Saturday & Sunday saw 19 heats of action over 204 ...
After 600 miles new Outback pulls to the right07 Oct 2004 09:40 GMT8
If I let go a wheel at 65mpg, car would right away drift to the right lane.
The effect much less pronounced at 35 mph. This is a new car with only 600
miles on it.
Should I take it to the dealer immediately or wait till first oil change (or
poor wrx07 Oct 2004 08:26 GMT18
First off I would like to say I wanted a WRX, and still would like to take a
good look at the STI, I drive a 2003 turbo pt cruiser, stock 220hp heavier
then a wrx, but it was a good match against one, I just added the mopar
stage 1 kit to my car and easily smoked a wrx from a ...

97 Legacy Outback: Are Monroe gasmatic struts OK?06 Oct 2004 21:56 GMT6
Please don't shoot me, but I have no interest in better performance
and I don't off-road.  What I want is struts that are reliable, cheap,
and will NOT lower the car.
I shopped around (a LITTLE) and the best deal I could find was at
engine cooling questions06 Oct 2004 20:51 GMT13
My 1995 Subaru Legacy L has two engine cooling fans.  Should both of the
fans continually cycle on and off together very frequently?
Thanks,
John
New 2005 WRX facts not guesses please06 Oct 2004 14:14 GMT4
I have ordered new WRX 2005 and expect it to come on November. I live in
Finland and need to find winter wheels to it. I have received mixed
information about the new WRX and its changes regarding last years model.
Someone is blaming that WRX will have the same wheel, ET and bolt
K&N Filter Question06 Oct 2004 03:27 GMT2
There's a K&N filter on ebay.  How can I tell if the part # will fit my
car?   Does K&N have a cross reference site?

Vibration in steering on startup on 3.0 2004 Outback06 Oct 2004 01:45 GMT2
I have  four month old 2004 3.0 outback. I have noticed that when the car is
cold and reviving high that the steering seems to have some extra vibration
to it when idle. Amost like a vibration growl.  I had a 2000 2.5 Outback and
this vibration was not present. Is this normal for ...
