| removing rear calipers on 94 Legacy | 05 Oct 2004 23:12 GMT | 1 |
I am having trouble removing the calipers. I have done a mercedes job like this before and figured I would be able to do my mom's car. But I can't locate the second bolt that holds the calipers to the hub. I found one (at 9 o'clock on the passenger side) and then there is another ...

| Dropping Gas Tank? | 05 Oct 2004 22:40 GMT | 3 |
I have a 91 Legacy L 4wd. I'm smelling gas with a full tank but once under 3/4 tank it goes away, sounds like a leak to me. From the looks of it I'll have to drop the whole rear end in order to get at the tank, any other suggestions?

Twice in as many weeks my friends have had the misfortune of need a jump start. I offered, as I always carry cables, but my new car won't seem to do it. (YES, I know how to hook up the cables). Even with my engine running and revved to around 4k RPM I still cannot jump anyone ...

well I put off having it done/doing it and now I've parked my 91 Legacy awd with bad cv joints. I'd change them myself but am concerned about the "special tools" referred to.

| 2005 Legacy 2.5i auto trans. (4EAT-S) | 04 Oct 2004 23:28 GMT | 2 |
Question for anyone who knows about the automatic transmission on this car. My previous Subaru was a manual and I knew it was a 50/50 split. I've read the auto is usually 90/10. However, I've also read that at lower speeds when the auto is in 1st or 2nd gears it's actually 50/50

| SAAB 9-2X | 04 Oct 2004 03:02 GMT | 2 |
Anyone out there tried one? Is it just another example of GM trying to take one car, and make it into 47 different brands? Does it take the best of Saab and meld it with the best of the Impreza? Or is it just a kludge?

| 1997 Impreza AC Compressor | 04 Oct 2004 02:14 GMT | 1 |
How can I tell if mine is going out? I had my oil changed yesterday and the guy said when he started my car he said he heard a noise that sounded like the compressor was going out. If I need one, what would the cost be? Do I have to get a new one, or can a rebuilt one be found? ...

After looking at chains, and realizing they just arent going to be the best option for me being in Alaska, I was hoping the group could recommend some winter tires. Costco has Michelin ICE-X ($100), the local tire place here has studded Hanook 404's, ($120) and I havent been

| 96 gtb boost pressure | 03 Oct 2004 16:57 GMT | 1 |
During the weekend I had the fortune of being on a remote quite straight country road and I thought I would see test the performance of my recently purched 96 GTB with little effort it passed the 180km/h mark and kept going - which was a little strange as the speedo only goes up ...

Looking for recommendations on tyres for my Outback. It goes off bitumen quite a bit so something with strong sidewalls etc is in order. I've had Pirelli P6000 on all four wheels since purchase this time last year, they've lasted 30,000 km.
