Side View Mirror on 99 OBW24 Feb 2005 00:37 GMT1
Okay, last year I lost the passenger side to a flying 2x4 (don't ask), this
month I lost my driver's side to my spouse's Pathfinder.  Why did Subaru not
use fold-away sideview mirrors on the fully loaded OBW??
In any case, I got the replacement mirror and thought I would try to ...
2004 Forester - Easily dented door panels23 Feb 2005 14:54 GMT2
I've had my Forester about a year now. No complaints except that there are
numerous small dings in the rear door panels at the upper bulge. This is an
area where other car doors normaly wouldn't touch so I can't understand the
cause. It seems that the door skins are particularily ...
Genuine Subaru Parts Source needed (USA)23 Feb 2005 01:31 GMT3
I am looking for a Subaru parts dealer that discounts. I need the new
Auto-Dimming Mirror/Compass w/Homelink unit. I have heard it is
available as a direct replacement for the existing mirror that does
NOT have the "Homelink" feature. Can anyone recommend a parts source
*Meltdown* - 2002 Legacy GT22 Feb 2005 22:37 GMT18
I blew up my Subaru on Wednesday morning.  It was 10 degrees overnight,
so I let the car warm up for about 10 minutes before I left for work on
Wednesday morning.  I smelled something burning after I started the
car.  I checked the temperature gauge, and all was good.  I popped the
Yokohama Geolandar Tires on Forester22 Feb 2005 21:18 GMT18
I just purchased an 05 Forester shod with Yokohama Geolandar tires.   They
seem okay as they are new.  However, I've researched them on tirerack and
many, particularly Forester owners, have given them very bad reviews.  I
noticed something strange about them.  They have a ...
2004 Subaru Outback Legacy Factory Service Manual?22 Feb 2005 01:37 GMT1
Does anyone have any recommendations on what service repair manuals I
should purchase for a 2004 Subaru Outback Legacy?

2002 obw - brakes 'click'21 Feb 2005 13:40 GMT4
Hi - when I apply the brakes when the car is in motion, there is often
but not always a clicking sound - I can feel it through the brake pedal.
This does not occur when the car is stationary.
I took the car in for another issue (chirping flywheel/clutch),

93 Legacy L AT 4wd - RPM - MPH21 Feb 2005 04:41 GMT1
I have a 1993 Subaru Legacy L wagon with an automatic transmission and 4wd.
When I am driving at 55mph, the engine is running at 3500rpm.  The engine
and transmission are warmed up, but it seems that the transmission hasn't
shifted into fourth gear.  Can anyone with a similar ...
'01 OBW head gaskets20 Feb 2005 19:04 GMT4
I'd smelled something for the last couple of days, so took it in and they told
me one of the head gaskets was leaking. Warranty repair. Should I have had the
other one replaced at the same time?
head gaster replacement20 Feb 2005 13:59 GMT15
Well it looks like the head gasket is failing in my 00 obw.  Stopped
in a respected independent Subaru shop for cost est.  $1600 for head
work and resealing the whole engine.  Heads will be surfaced.  Checked
in at dealer and they want $2300 and mentioned head would be pressure
2004 Forester front fender tags?20 Feb 2005 06:51 GMT3
We've just bought a 2004 Subaru Forester. It checks out OK at AAA except
the guy says there are no VIN-numbered (or other) tags on the front
fenders. However, I can't yet establish for a fact that there ought to
be such tags there or, if so, what they look like and where they ...
No taillights in '95 Legacy wagon19 Feb 2005 23:27 GMT1
Neither tail light works on my '95 Legacy wagon. To make a long story
short, I searched this newsgroup and found a thread describing an
identical problem last September - bulbs are okay, and when the brake
pedal is depressed BOTH filaments in the bulbs light up. The answer was
Subaru Forester 2003 XS Fuel Consumption and O2 sensor19 Feb 2005 21:37 GMT1
I have read a few threads about O2 sensors and fuel consumption.  I was
reluctant to jump on the band wagon but after the extreme measures by a
Subaru dealer to avoid this issue I thought I should offer my own
experience.
Fed vs. Cal Schedules?19 Feb 2005 21:08 GMT3
Why is there such a difference in maintenance schedules between California
and Federal spec cars?  Are Cal cars better?
Just wondering.....
