I have a manual MY01 WRX and it goes great but I have a couple of questions about 2 things it has recently started doing.
1. Sometimes when I am pulling away from a standing start if I hold the clutch in a certain place I sometimes hear a whirring sound. The place I hold the ...

Hood won't stay closed04 Mar 2005 03:29 GMT5
The hood on my '99 Subaru Legacy won't close tight. You can't open it
without moving the release tab on the hood, but it won't "lock down".
Driving at 60mph on the hghwy, it bounces up and down a bit. Is there any
danger of it coming loose and flying open?
2000 Legacy paint defect03 Mar 2005 23:16 GMT6
I was washing my car today (hand held power washing place) and piece of
paint (approx 4.5" square) came right off. I have zero rust on this
car. I'm guessing the water blast got under the paint via a tiny rock
chip or something. Has anyone had similar paint issues??

I've got a '97 Legacy 2.2L engine.
Which way do I turn the crankshaft pulley nut to take it
off? The usual counter clockwise? It's on very tight.
Thanks,
Smell of gasoline03 Mar 2005 22:38 GMT13
For the past few weeks, I occasionally notice this when in or around my '01 OBW.
Took it to the dealer, who asked if the heat was on (yes) at these times, set to
recirculate air (no). They found a leaking head gasket and replaced it. I still
smell gas. Whether car is warmed up or ...

Anybody else with similar problem, and any suggestions on what should be the
Help on choice for 2005 Outback03 Mar 2005 02:12 GMT21
We are at our wits end with our Volvo cross country which is seven
years old.  It is a solid car which drives well,  but is always having
electrical and electronic issues.  Almost every month we have to deal
with the check engine light. We are most likely planning a purchase of
1983 1800 4Wd dies.......02 Mar 2005 22:49 GMT7
We have a 1983 1800 4WD wagon. It has been very reliable over the last 5
years and only required regular maintenance.
Over the last month it has taken to dying without warning. Leave it for 5
minutes and try to restart and it is fine for a another few days when we
Forester Tire Replacement - Question02 Mar 2005 22:44 GMT13
I am going to be getting new tires for my 2003 Forester.
I dont think I will be replacing them with the same stock OE tire
(Geolander G900).   That being said, if I buy a different tire, do I
also have to replace the spare tire too with the same brand?  Or, will
99 OBW Check engine light code 150702 Mar 2005 14:23 GMT3
CEL comes on and car idles poorly unless we re-start. We have tried
everything to eliminate this persistent problem. Has anyone else had
similar experience and found a solution? We checked and cleaned all
connections, replaced air idle motor, and are stumped. Any ideas?

an 82 Subaru GL-10 with the 1.8L Front wheel drive engine?
I really would like to get excited about my OBW01 Mar 2005 21:03 GMT8
I have received some bashing for the negative comments about MY 05 OBW.
I wish that I could get excited about Subie like many of you obviously are,
but I can't. I have taken my OBW to the dealer 3 times in the past 2 months
for problems I have had. A few of the problems include ...
