Non-Turbo subaru models call for the same replacement filter regardless if
the car was manufactured in Japan (Forester) or USA (outback)  Does anybody
know what model filter is installed in a non-turbo forester from the

stering wheel wobble in 2001 OBW10 Apr 2005 02:49 GMT4
When I get the car up to about 60mph on freeway, there is a very noticable
vibration in the stering wheel, and I also think that braking may not be as
'smooth' as it should.   I could just be used to some of it by now.  Any
ideas?
Downgrading from "extended armrest" on Outback Sport ...09 Apr 2005 15:31 GMT7
We initially wanted to buy the Impreza 2.5 RS, which had neither the
extended armrest nor the spoiler, but were told that none of the 65
New England Subaru dealers had that model -- only the OBS special
edition.
Sitting prim and proper09 Apr 2005 07:40 GMT1
Ever read your owner's manual?  It says your passenger must sit primly
and properly. Really. Imagine your grandmother sitting with her hands
neatly clasped in her lap. Okay, that's an exaggeration, your hands
don't need to be clasped. They can rest on top of your thighs. I get a

How to Wash Engine?09 Apr 2005 01:09 GMT5
I need to wash my engine.  My plan was to take it to one of those
coin-op places and use the power sprayer, carefully avaioding the spk
plug wires and battery.  Is there anything else I need to cover or
anything lie that.  Should I use one of those nasty chemical things

Are there any benefits in going to a lightweight crank pulley.  I'm coming
up for the 75000kms inspection on my 03 WRX and figure when have belt
changed can change pulley at same time.  Any drawbacks to having lighter
pulley as well?  Any makers better than others?

I have a 2005 Forester LL Beam automatic with 3000 miles. When I drove
it home new from the dealership, it downshifted on one occasion from
third to first gear at more than 20 MPH when I was accelerating only
moderately with approxamately half throttle. The RPM went to about

CV Boot replacement07 Apr 2005 18:06 GMT5
Yesterday my cv boot ripped open and splattered its grease all over the
exhaust manifold and engine.  My questions are:
How much is reasonable for someone to charge to replace/repack the
boot.
Purging air from cooling systeim07 Apr 2005 15:01 GMT6
I asked this question once before and the only answer I got was read the
manual.  Nothing in the manual says how to purge the air when changing the

don't have any air pockets in the cooling system after ...
