Forester 1999 air cleaner replace problem25 May 2005 18:50 GMT1
how can I replace the air cleaner element of my Forester '99 (no turbo) ?
After removing the bolt and the 3 clips of the air cleaner case, I can't
turn this case far enough backwards.
It touches the chassis. There's not enough space left to take out the old
2005 Legacy GT - Bought in November and Luvin it25 May 2005 17:31 GMT7
Ok, so I've only put 2000 miles on this baby since November (I work too

(with custom exhaust, air kit, PowerCommander).  That'll put a smile on your
face.

another Forester or an Impreza RS wagon. My guess is the Impreza wagon ...

Possible transmission problem: serious?25 May 2005 03:43 GMT3
Just today my 98 OB (219K miles) did two strange things that may be related:
1. When the car is first started, or when it is started warm, the AT Oil
Temp light flashes for about 10 seconds, then goes out.
2.  In the last two tanks of gas (I drove 350 miles today), fuel consumption

a question w.r.t my unfortunate situation invovling a car accident24 May 2005 15:16 GMT23
Well, some of you may notice that I was aiming to buy a new car very
soon - was planning to trade in my current car if I don't have it sold
by the time I go to purchase the new car.  I was thinking to get the
new car by the end of the first week of June or early second week. That

99 OB nightmare car or mechanic?23 May 2005 16:34 GMT4
At 95K miles I smelled burning oil or rubber. The mechanic said it was
cam seals and replaced 3 of the four and the timing belt at the same
time.. About 4K miles later it happend again and he replaced the crank
seal. 40, yes forty, miles later the engine stopped at 60MPH and blew
