Free: RHD 1993 Subaru Legacy L Wagon - 2.2L - 4wd23 May 2005 03:00 GMT1
My postal Subaru finally has seen the end of the road.  This wagon was used
for rural postal delivery for 12 years and 217,000 miles.  The engine and
transmission both need to be rebuilt.  The body also has it share of rust.
It is located near Sandwich, Illinois.
Subaru Outback - low ceiling - Legacy22 May 2005 22:37 GMT7
I'm fairly tall.  My mother owns the Subaru Outback with the sunroof,
and the ceiling is too low for me.  I used to drive a '98 Legacy with
no sunroof and the height was fine.  But there is a '02 Legacy for
sale with a sunroof.  Is it likely to give the same problem?  I'll
2000 Outback Limited Binding while Turning22 May 2005 19:20 GMT1
Purchased a 2000 Outback recently, belonged to a older couple.  Vehicl
has only 18,000 miles on it.  Unfortunately the car has a sligh
binding from the front-end when turning hard left or right.  Had
major maintenance done to vehicle to bring it up to spec.  Dealer put
camry or subary continued -22 May 2005 05:15 GMT13
> What engine in the Camry? The 2.4l 4 cyl. engine or the V6?
Is 2.4L I-4 160 HP in Camries  called 4 cyl. engine? I heard bad news
about V6; so no V6 for me.
> What engine for the Legacy? Turbo or no turbo?
getting  a car price quote through costco membership ($50)22 May 2005 05:13 GMT4

Knock Sensor - Resistor replacement19 May 2005 22:36 GMT12
I've seen several posts about people replacing their knock sensors with
560K resistors.  Has this process been documented anywhere?  I have a 99
Impreza Outback Sport that runs AWFULLY.  I've been getting a Knock Sensor
error w/ my CEL.. and the performance problem I'm having ...
Update on my experiences with my WRX STi '04.19 May 2005 21:09 GMT5
Greetings all. I thought I'd share my ongoing experiences with my STi which
I traded my old WRX in for last mm.. September (2004) I believe.
For the winter I purchased a set of Pirelli PZero Nero tires and put them on
the stock rims. They were great, fantastic tires, but there were ...
'96 Outback Question18 May 2005 20:47 GMT8
Am thinking of buying a '96 Outback 2.5 Auto w/112K miles for $4000..
Car seems okay.  I am concerned that one has to use premium gas and
the headlamps appear to have a milky appearance to them.  Engine just
rebuilt, from valves up, by expert mechanic due to timing belt
Sun visor for 85 Subaru?18 May 2005 08:32 GMT5
The sun visor for my 1895 Subaru GL 4x4 wagon broke, and Subaru
no longer carries replacements.  Does anyone know where I can find
one?  The car is gray with blue interior, but I would rather have
wrong color than no visor.
High Mileage Preventive Maintenance Recommendations?18 May 2005 05:38 GMT7
My 98 Outback Ltd. has now reached 218,000 miles.  It's had very few
problems during its life, and I'd like to keep it that way.  I know that
once cars reach a certain age some very expensive things can go wrong, and
would like to avoid that by doing the best possible preventive ...
05 Forester: better horn? better tires?18 May 2005 02:48 GMT16
Is there any way to get a horn that doesn't make me sound like a toy
car?  I tend to forget how squeaky it is and then I'm embarassed when
I use it.
I'm not looking for a 18-wheeler air horn (though that would be nice),
How important is PCV valve?17 May 2005 22:44 GMT6
Yesterday I replaced the PCV valve in my 98 OBL, probably for the first time
in over 60K miles.  The old one wasn't stuck but it did have a lot of crud
inside, and the outside of it was pretty rusty. In just the first mile of
driving I noticed that the motor seemed smoother, didn't ...
Forester seats17 May 2005 19:41 GMT6
You guys have convinced me that the Forester is ok on the highway (see topic
below).  I just drove one, and I agree.  It has a vibration between 65 &
80mph, but that's probably a tire or wheel balance problem.
Now, what about the seats.  This is a fancy model, with leather seats.  I

03 Forrester - Hard Start-Rough Idle-Turn Off/On It's OK17 May 2005 16:53 GMT6
This has happened about a year ago and then again this morning.
It starts as if the battery is just about dead.  Once it starts it idles
really rough with a white smoky exhaust.
When I turn it off and then restart it -- it acts as if nothing ever
