Adhesive to reattach rubber footpad?17 May 2005 13:02 GMT4
We have a 2000 Subaru Forester, and recently the rubber footpad (to the left
of the brake where the emergency brake would be, if it were a foot pedal)
just fell off. Apparently the adhesive they used wasn't mixed right or
something, because it came off all at once.
Forester Replacement Tires16 May 2005 19:14 GMT9
Have a '02 Forester LS with 33,000 miles with factory Goelander tires.
Its almost time to replace them. Do I hear any suggestions? We're
looking for a quieter tire.
Urgent how to remove turn signal lamp?16 May 2005 02:24 GMT11
I need to get the right turn signal lamp out to check the bulb.  It has
been into the dealer twice and had the connector replaced and the bulb
(seat) "tweaked", but still it either quits blinking or blinks rapidly.
Something is loose or wrong and I thought I'd take a look at it ...
VDC Light on15 May 2005 19:22 GMT1
Driving down the road this evening and the VDC OFF light and the CHECK
ENGINE light came on. VDC light went off after 10 miles-check engine light

[wiring question] spot light in 98 Legacy15 May 2005 07:07 GMT5
The overhead map light [aka: spot light] went out in my 98 GT wagon.
The bulb seems okay and there is no current betw/ the contacts in either
position of the switch.
I cannot find a fuse that protects that circuit, I am assuming the bulb
'99 OBS - rear tire clearance problem15 May 2005 01:14 GMT4
With my old tires I would occasionally "bottom out" when going over a dip at
higher speeds.  It was so seldom that I didn't worry about it.  Now, with my
new Goodyear Triple-Treads, it happens much too often....bumps, dips, extra
weight in the car.  What's happening is that the ...
Brake pads - what brand besides OEM?15 May 2005 00:10 GMT1
I will need new brake pads for my Subaru Outback 2001.
Is there any brand besides OEM someone has tested and could recommend?
I believe even OEM pads are probably made by companies which sell them under
their own brand.
Ding-King14 May 2005 17:34 GMT7
It finally happened yesterday.  After 13 months I received my first two
dings on my 04 Outback LTD.  One ding is about the size of a quarter,
the other the size of a dime.  No damage to the paint.  Is it worth
purchasing and using the "Ding King" or a similiar product from
low octane hard on knock sensor14 May 2005 06:58 GMT8
A friend of mine had his 3rd generation Outback's knock sensor replaced and
they told him to use higher octane fuel because the other stuff was hard on
the sensor.
I believe that the vehicle probably needs a higher octane fuel but I don't

Removing a frozen on crankshaft on a 2.2 legacy.14 May 2005 06:07 GMT1
I'm trying to replace the crankshaft seal and oil pump o ring on my 98
legacy (2.2).  My crankshaft sprocket is frozen on.  Normally these just
slip off by hand.  Nothing for a puller to hook on to as far as I can see.
Any advice for getting the sprocket off?  I have tried heat.
o5 xt sunroof question/poll13 May 2005 21:27 GMT1
My users manual says the switch for the sun roof clicks open half way
and on close goes all the way.
Mine is backwards. Click open all the way and on close only goes half
way and you have to manually start it again to close all the way.
Iowa Raises Speed Limit to 70!13 May 2005 17:33 GMT12
Its about time.  Honestly, I never thought I'd see the day in this
state.  So many insurance companies in Des Moines with so much
political power.   We got the first 5 mph out of them, in a couple
more years we can go for the next 5!
86 Wagon - leaking power steering - help please13 May 2005 14:47 GMT2
I own a 1986 DL1800 Wagon (since new) that has travelled 190,000 kilometres.
The power steering fluid had been leaking slightly for a while but was very
easily managed with the occasional top up of fluid.
I recently used a product through the power steering that "guaranteed to fix
Brake pads - 2001 Outback wagon13 May 2005 14:11 GMT2
The wife recently bought an '01 Outback wagon.  Great car, but the brake pedal effort is really high - sometimes she's afraid
she won't be able to stop the car.  All the components in the brake system appear to be in good shape.
I suspect that someone has installed super-hard ...
