| 2003 forester service | 15 Jun 2005 00:01 GMT | 3 |
does anyone have an opinion on the 15K service for the forester '03 XS. My dealer wants to charge $350.00 to change the trani fluid, air filter checks various stuff. The service manual just states to 'check' the trani fluid. Why would my dealer want to change the fluid other ...

| Air conditioner losing its power? | 14 Jun 2005 11:33 GMT | 1 |
my legacy 1995 seems to be getting out of R134 coolant. It did not happen suddenly, but since a couple of years, it looks like the air conditioner takes more and more time to do its job. After the last couple of days at 90 degress F, I see that it just can't cool enough.

| Subaru cars unable to do handbarke turn?(except STI) | 14 Jun 2005 04:42 GMT | 1 |
I've read various articles about the viscous typed center differential on normal 2.5RS and WRX (not sti)will lock-up whenever the speed difference is too big. So once you applied handbrake, the center diff will also tend to slow down your front wheels too since it's auto locked-up,

| Forester: viscous coupling locking center differential ?????? | 13 Jun 2005 12:17 GMT | 7 |
An earlier post mentioned that the 5 speed Forester had no center diff, only the viscous coupling giving drive to the rear wheels. On the Subdriven web site,an article on the 06 Forester (http://www.subdriven.com/news/publish/Subaru_News/article_369.shtml), has

| Forester Wind/Road Noise | 12 Jun 2005 09:11 GMT | 4 |
I have a 2001 Forester with 58K miles on it. Overall, I like the vehicle, but I find the amount of wind/road noise at highway speeds annoying. It seems that the wind noise comes from the windows not sealing

| Does the Outback clutch have to be heavy? | 11 Jun 2005 13:28 GMT | 10 |
Started driving a 2003 Outback with a (proverbial)10 tonne clutch pedal. So heavy I got joint pain in my knee after a 40Km city drive. First Outback I have driven. Other car (old Subie GL wagon) has very nice light clutch. Got back in

| Wacky Auto Dimming mirror experience | 10 Jun 2005 16:36 GMT | 12 |
During the winter I posted my experience with the auto-dimming mirror suddenly "fading" slowly until just a small circle of auto-dim crystal stuff was left and finally even that was gone. I accepted this and have been driving around with what now amounts to a regular mirror for

| Dog slobber and new Outback | 09 Jun 2005 21:04 GMT | 12 |
I drove the OB XT Limited and like it a lot, but I have two golden retrievers that drool, shed, sometimes get muddy, etc. The cargo area tray is a good start on containing the mess but the sides/seat backs are carpeted and headliner is fabric. Other than the dog barrier, Subaru ...
