05 Forester: armrest extension?01 Aug 2005 00:15 GMT5
I've decided I need the armrest extension, even though it's probably
overpriced for what you get (and could be higher).
I priced it at a local dealer, and although they offered a break on
the price, it's still more than the US retail converted to C$. :(

Is there anybody who can give us some ownership insight on new B9

2000 Forester Headlight Flicker30 Jul 2005 22:07 GMT1
I replaced the Combination light switch module on the 2000 Forester,
and it corrected the issue of the headlights going on and off
sporadically when using the turn signals, or sometimes when just
turning the Headlights.
Confusing Subaru Instruction Manual30 Jul 2005 04:20 GMT3
Just got a new 2005 Subaru Outback wagon, the L.L. Bean model.
On page 7-29, there are instructions on the automatic shift that I
can't believe!
It says, basically, "If you inadvertently turned the ignition switch

Humm28 Jul 2005 17:20 GMT2
Got a problem that I first noted yesterday.  I can hear a noise like a
humming sound.  Sound lasts about 1-2 sec, is mid pitched and has a
rising pitch near the end.  By end of day it was repeating every 1-3
mins.  Noise also sounds like it is coming from a can or other sim
Remove what fuse to immobilize 05 OBW?28 Jul 2005 16:15 GMT6
When leaving my 05 OBW parked for a while away, I'd like to immobilize
it so that orinary hot wiring etc. would not work.
In the old days removing the distributor rotor arm would do the trick
but now I'm thinking of removing a major fuse. But I don't want to
Outback XT with Regular fuel?28 Jul 2005 13:44 GMT9
We're thinking about buying an '05 Outback XT but Consumer Reports (and
others) say it requires premium fuel.  I was wondering if it's really
required or just if you want "optimum performance"?
thanks!

where to buy splash guard (mud guard)28 Jul 2005 04:22 GMT3
I want to put the splash guard myself on my legacy GT wagon.
Dealer wants to sell me for $70 (discounted price).  Is that a good
price?  (varsdirect charges 97 for outting that piece).
Any link where I can buy it for cheaper?  Unless the difference is
'01 RS rear clicking28 Jul 2005 04:14 GMT3
I can't describe the noise any better than clicking, except to say that
though it is constant, it does vary in intensity but not tied to driving
over bumps, varying speed, or while making turns.
CV boots are all healthy and have grease in them.
'05 Outback Wagon - CD player starts automatically28 Jul 2005 02:20 GMT5
I've got an intermitent problem with my 05 outback wagon where I'll be
listening to the radio and the cd player will start playing without me
pressing any buttons, sometimes I'll even have the radio turned
completely off and the CD player will randomly start playing.  Has
MMT in gas27 Jul 2005 17:34 GMT2
I've heard that MMT is used as an octane booster. WHat about buying
MMT directly from a chamical supply house and adding to your own gas?
How much MMT is used in the boosters?
Outback Tire Size27 Jul 2005 04:33 GMT4
The OEM spec for my 98 OBL is 205/70-15.  Would it cause problems to
substitute 215/70-15?
I am buying a set of Goodyear Tripletreads.  According to the dealer's
website, the diameter of the 205 tire is 26.3" and the diameter of the 215
