| Upgrading Subaru Speakers / Tweeters | 27 Jul 2005 02:52 GMT | 4 |
Has anyone upgraded the speakers in their Subaru? I have a 2004 Forester and would like to add tweeters, but Subaru's own part is so overpriced. Has anyone added an OEM/aftermarket set of tweeters? What did you buy, and how/where did you install them?

| alternator and oxegyn sensor | 26 Jul 2005 10:11 GMT | 9 |
I just had my third alternator since january fail on my 2002 outback. Everytime the alternator starts to fail, the check engine light goes on and I am told that the o2 sensor needs to be replaced. it seems too much a coincidence that these failures happened all three

| 2005 Legacy fuel efficiency | 25 Jul 2005 06:52 GMT | 16 |
In the US, the Legacy/Outback is available with a turbo 4-cylinder with 250 hp, or a 6-cylinder with 250 hp. I'm interested in which gets the better overall gas mileage, since they are both rated the same with automatic transmissions. What has been your experience?

| What OBD-II Scanner to use??? | 24 Jul 2005 20:42 GMT | 5 |
I have a 1999 Subaru LOB Wagon, VIN 4S3BG6853X7621967, 2.5L, that is OBD-II compliant and the check enging light just came on recently. Car is running fine, but the wife is concerned and it "bugs" me that it's on. The connector for pulling codes with a scanner/retriever tool is ...

| Fix your clock (Forester) | 24 Jul 2005 16:14 GMT | 2 |
A lot of the Forester clocks seem to quit or go intermittant. Mine was a cracked solder joint. To fix, you need a fine tip soldering iron and half an hour. Maybe a resistor, but mine just needed resoldering.

| 05 OBW - Seatbelt warning lights | 24 Jul 2005 10:07 GMT | 2 |
Love the warning lights in the 05 OBW, located near the dome light. Red for passenger when weight in the seat and it's unlocked, green for when the rears are done up. Driver's warning light is in dash still. Any word on whether this is in all the new models? Extremely handy to have,

I'm looking at a 1992 Legacy SW at a auto shop - it's for sale with no warranty, but at a price of $1500. What should I look for before deciding to buy? Any warnings? Many thanks.

| Another newbie 2000 Forester question | 22 Jul 2005 13:57 GMT | 1 |
Can anyone explain to me how to remove/replace the digital clock that is above the windshield? Mine seems to be dead, but rather than spend ~$100 for the dealer to replace it, I'd rather do it myself (if it is not too difficult).

| Re: Another newbie 2000 Forester question - Clock is fixable | 22 Jul 2005 13:48 GMT | 1 |
This is apparently common on Foresters, and usually a solder joint that cracks in the clock, which is easily fixable if you can do fine soldering (or know someone who can). There was a post here last week about it from Tom, here is a copy:
