Rear Gate Bar for 2005 Outback05 Sep 2005 18:46 GMT1
Does anyone know if the rear tailgate of the 2005 Outback is prepared
to accept a rear gate bar? I've seen one or two around, but Subaru
doesn't show this option of '05 and the dealer pleads ignrance.

Fuel Mileage Problem - Diagnosis?05 Sep 2005 16:50 GMT8
In the past 6 weeks my 98 OBW has suffered an increase in fuel consumption
from its normal 25MPG to 21-23 MPG.  I'm trying to figure out what's causing
it.  So far I've come up with these ideas:
1. Worn sparkplugs: Yes, they were completely worn. I replaced them 2 weeks
Trailer wiring problem on 2001 Outback05 Sep 2005 12:04 GMT2
The left turn signal on my boat trailer is not working. I checked all the
obvious things and found although there was power to the right side and to
the running lights, there is none to the left. I have traced back the wiring
to a little black box  under the carpeting on the ...
2000 Forester "road noise" or bad wheel bearing?05 Sep 2005 04:06 GMT9
The last few weeks it seems as if I'm getting a lot more road noise in the
back of my 2000 Forester than I had previously.  I've tried adjusting the
tire pressures (I've heard both 29 psi and 32 psi as the best "optimum"
pressure), but that didn't seem to help.  Of course, I ...
Common problems with '01 OBW?04 Sep 2005 11:23 GMT5
I got this car a year ago today, 36k miles, well-maintained, and have been very
happy with it. While looking for something else, the dealer found a leaking head
gasket and replaced it under the extended warranty. Glad he found it since there
were no symptoms. Are there any other ...
Social Comment04 Sep 2005 01:46 GMT1
Although I regularily scan this group for Subaru info, I very much
appreciate some of the "off-topic" discourse. Isn't it nice to think we can
freely express ourselves about things other than only Subaru.
Of course, Subaru owners will naturally be more pragmatic and thoughtful
how to change a fuel filter in an impreza wrx03 Sep 2005 23:34 GMT2
I just bought a fuel filter and i want to change it in my '02 subaru Impreza
WRX.  I unclipped the hoses, but is there any tool or method to remove the
hoses from the filter?  Also, do i have to relieve the pressure first?
Impertinent CEL P0400 99 OBW03 Sep 2005 19:02 GMT3
99 OBW
I am not sure if this is anything to worry about, but I have situation
where my CEL comes on with a P0400 code.  This is related to the ERG
system, but after having it checked out by the dealer with no
'97 Legacy GT no spark to two cylinders.03 Sep 2005 16:57 GMT8
I have a '97 Legacy wagon GT, 2.5L engine with about 72k miles. My car was
going along just fine on the freeway at 65mph when all of a sudden it lost
power. I was able to safely coast to a stop away from traffic. I had the car
towed to a local mechanic. He called me the next morning ...
diagnostic for the Duty C solenoid?03 Sep 2005 16:40 GMT5
is there any sort of diagnostic for the Duty C solenoid aside from taking it
out of the car?  my beloved 98 outback (67k miles) shudders on turns, and the
problem is eliminated by putting the FWD fuse in.  naturally the local subaru
dealer wants to have me spend $950 to have the ...
Impreza remote starter03 Sep 2005 02:11 GMT11
I have an impreza 2004 with an remote starter/immobilizer. I took the car to
the dealer many times than I can count for different reasons. I had the
system replaced 2 times and now, when the engine is cold, if I try to start
it with the remote, it would turn off a few seconds ...
Best gas milage speeds for WRX w/automatic03 Sep 2005 01:17 GMT2
At what speeds would the automatic perform most efficiently? (yes I know a
stick is most efficient) is there a torque curve for the engine?
Timing belt life02 Sep 2005 17:56 GMT9
My 1999 Subie Outback, 2500, calls for timing belt replacement after
105,000 miles.  My friend has a 1998, and his belts had to be changed
at 60,000, which he did.  Now he is coming up on 110,000 miles, and we
are wondering whether he is due for another timing belt.  Would a new
Question re grounding of speedometer - 99 OBW02 Sep 2005 13:13 GMT2
The speedo in my 99 OBW has been working intermittently for some time
now.  Initial suggestions that I received involved replacing the speedo
sending unit (about $300 parts and labor).
I read something more recently suggesting it could be a loose ground
MY01 OBW remote entry problem01 Sep 2005 22:58 GMT3
My remote door locking/unlocking has been working intermittenttly for some
time and has now stopped working completely. Replaced the battery when the
remote started playing up and the replacement battery is still full now.
Checked internal contacts on remote and seems OK.
