| Fuel Mileage Problem - Diagnosis? | 05 Sep 2005 16:50 GMT | 8 |
In the past 6 weeks my 98 OBW has suffered an increase in fuel consumption from its normal 25MPG to 21-23 MPG. I'm trying to figure out what's causing it. So far I've come up with these ideas: 1. Worn sparkplugs: Yes, they were completely worn. I replaced them 2 weeks

| Trailer wiring problem on 2001 Outback | 05 Sep 2005 12:04 GMT | 2 |
The left turn signal on my boat trailer is not working. I checked all the obvious things and found although there was power to the right side and to the running lights, there is none to the left. I have traced back the wiring to a little black box under the carpeting on the ...

| 2000 Forester "road noise" or bad wheel bearing? | 05 Sep 2005 04:06 GMT | 9 |
The last few weeks it seems as if I'm getting a lot more road noise in the back of my 2000 Forester than I had previously. I've tried adjusting the tire pressures (I've heard both 29 psi and 32 psi as the best "optimum" pressure), but that didn't seem to help. Of course, I ...

I got this car a year ago today, 36k miles, well-maintained, and have been very happy with it. While looking for something else, the dealer found a leaking head gasket and replaced it under the extended warranty. Glad he found it since there were no symptoms. Are there any other ...

Although I regularily scan this group for Subaru info, I very much appreciate some of the "off-topic" discourse. Isn't it nice to think we can freely express ourselves about things other than only Subaru. Of course, Subaru owners will naturally be more pragmatic and thoughtful

I have a '97 Legacy wagon GT, 2.5L engine with about 72k miles. My car was going along just fine on the freeway at 65mph when all of a sudden it lost power. I was able to safely coast to a stop away from traffic. I had the car towed to a local mechanic. He called me the next morning ...

| Timing belt life | 02 Sep 2005 17:56 GMT | 9 |
My 1999 Subie Outback, 2500, calls for timing belt replacement after 105,000 miles. My friend has a 1998, and his belts had to be changed at 60,000, which he did. Now he is coming up on 110,000 miles, and we are wondering whether he is due for another timing belt. Would a new
