Subaru repair in Bay Area29 Nov 2005 17:50 GMT3
Anyone know a good (and reasonable) Subaru repair place in the SF Bay
Area?  I usually go to Rick's in Santa Cruz (best in the world?) but
need someone in Berkeley/Oakland - even SFor Marin would be ok.
Head Gasket Replacement29 Nov 2005 04:59 GMT1
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Unfortunately for me, I believe I have a leaking head gasket on my 99
Subaru Forester S.  I can smell fuel/exhaust fumes in the coolant
reservoir.  Also, coolant is not flowing back from the reservoir into
New Impreza - what are your opinions?29 Nov 2005 04:08 GMT15
I wonder, what's the general reception of the new impreza. I must admit
I hate the new outlook. It doesn't compete with the fabulous older version.
What do you think about the new impreza?

Read in automotive column today something that made me wonder.  The
writer was contemplating getting "plus" size tires due to clearance
problems with his Legacy.  The answer included a caution to get 5 new
tires because running the "plus" size with a the space saver spare on

STI  oil changes......28 Nov 2005 07:21 GMT7
Does anyone with an STI do there own oil changes?
I'm really close to buying a new 2006, and wonder how easy it is to do the

For instance, is the oil filter easy to get to, or is it buried out of
GM - in China28 Nov 2005 02:23 GMT5
A quote from CBS News:
"China is one bright spot for GM, which said last month that sales there
rose 27.8 percent in the first three quarters of the year to 472,468
vehicles. Growth was fueled partly by a mini-vehicle joint venture with

Legacy car audio26 Nov 2005 22:43 GMT1
I recently bough a 2003 Legacy 2.5 GX automatic from a lease company. The

are different from the set which is mounted in my car. The only thing I
know, because I found a blank Kenwood warrant card , in my ...
2005 Subaru Forester and CT winter wipers26 Nov 2005 05:18 GMT3
I checked for winter wipers at CT and they recommend 22" driver, 19"
passenger (or 18" for the winter Teflon blade that doesn't have 19")
and didn't specify rear, though they said the rear was 15" up to 2003.
I have a couple of questions, hope the experts can help.
STi: How to remove turbo guage25 Nov 2005 20:09 GMT1

column. I'd prefer to move it elsewhere. Does anyone know how to
remove the guage?
I think I may have to remove the case around the steering column. Is
