| Engage FWD Required with Chains? | 10 Nov 2005 20:31 GMT | 5 |
I have a 1997 Subaru Outback. I recently was off road in the mountains and woke up to 14 inches of snow. For the first time I chained up my fronts and worked my way back to logging roads and then down the mountain. When I was telling a friend about it the next day, he asked ...

| Front rotors | 10 Nov 2005 20:23 GMT | 13 |
I love my both of my Subaru's..Great cars...However, I'm really getting tired of warped rotors on my '97 and '01. I've replaced the '97 rotors five times in 155k miles, and had each turned once in between replacement. My '01 is on its second set of rotors in 25k. I drive in ...

| trans. temp. light | 09 Nov 2005 23:57 GMT | 1 |
Last week the transmission oil temperature light began to flash, in my '97 Outback when I started the engine. I thought it was a bad temperature sensor, or the car was suffering from post traumatic stress disorder after hurricane Wilma. Obviously, the gear oil temperature was ...

| 2001 Legacy Parts and Installation Help Needed | 09 Nov 2005 21:31 GMT | 2 |
My wife has a 2001 Legacy Sedan L. In order to help her see better at night, I decided I would get her some fog lights for her birthday. The Subaru dealership indicated they don't have fog lights for this model. I did a web search and it appears they do. Is it that they ...

| Touching up paint | 09 Nov 2005 04:00 GMT | 2 |
It's been my experience that touch-up paint for scratches generally looks like a glob of crap. Can you wet sand the paint glob down with 2000 grit? Does this work well on a Subaru paint job with its clear coat?

| Forester: Security system went off | 09 Nov 2005 03:17 GMT | 1 |
This morning I heard the familiar honk- honk- honk of a burglar alarm. I looked out the door to see which one of my bonehead neighbors was making the noise, and I was the bonehead. It was my 04 Forester. After a few more seconds it stopped.

| Pressure in new tires? | 08 Nov 2005 21:20 GMT | 13 |
I just bought a new set of Michelin Sport Pilot A/S 205/55 16" for my 2002 WRX. The decal on the door says to inflate tires to 32/29 front/back. The guy at the tire store said to leave them at 35/35 because he was worried this specific tire would wear unevenly and that

| STi All Season Tire Recommendations. | 08 Nov 2005 17:40 GMT | 11 |
Its been real fun (if not a little noisy) this summer riding the Potenzas, but the ice and snow are coming to the New York area, and my slicks are about spent. Someone recommended PZero Nero's, but I read some mixed reviews on them

| Dent Wizard - I'm sold | 08 Nov 2005 17:33 GMT | 7 |
Just had a 2 inch door dent (just below the crease) fixed on my 2005 OBW. I checked with a local body shop and they wanted to charge me $410 to fix (filling, sanding painting etc.). Dent Wizard was about $250 cheaper and you would never know a dent was ever there. They didn't ...

| Engine transplant in 96 OBW | 08 Nov 2005 16:44 GMT | 2 |
As I mentioned in an earlier post, Ive got a '96 Legacy Outback Wagon with the EJ25 automatic, 192,000 miles and leaking (oil in radiator) head gasket. I've decide to replace with the 2.2L. I've been told that the '95 engine is the only one with the dual exhaust ports needed to ...

| Towing Subaru Possibilities | 07 Nov 2005 14:37 GMT | 2 |
I have a 1997 Subaru Outback (automatic). I recently pulled out the owner manual because another Subaru owner asked about towing. I always thought that you had to tow Subarus with all 4 wheels off the road. It appears that you can tow it with 4 wheels on the ground or 2 up ...
