New wheels & tires07 Nov 2005 01:45 GMT6
I posted this several days back. No replies yet, so giving it another try.

We have a '97 Legacy Outback. It is time to replace the tires again.
Also going to be replacing the wheels this time around. Over the years the
Putting Chains on Tribeca Confusion06 Nov 2005 21:34 GMT1
We are required to carry chains and WA and it is possible that the state
patrol can even require AWD to use them, though rare.   I just recently got
my Tribeca and read that you can only use special chains.   It indicates to
get Subaru manufactured chains.   I called Subaru up ...
90' Subaru Loyale Throttle Body06 Nov 2005 20:35 GMT1
I am trying to locate the throttle body and cables on my Subaru Loyale so
that I may spray wd40 on them.  I know almost nothing about cars and need a
little help finding it.

awd will not engage06 Nov 2005 20:05 GMT1
I have a 1998 right hand drive awd subaru legacy.  The awd will not engage.
The front right wheel is the only one that engages.  I have changed the
fuse, that was not the problem.
the ONLY AWD auto company06 Nov 2005 20:02 GMT20
I used to think Audi and Subaru are the only auto manufacturers producing
AWD vehicles. I mean no FWD or RWD. I'm surprised to find out on a magazine
that Audi A4 is FWD and AWD optional. Thought it's a misprint. Checked the
website and it's right. Used to tell others both are ...
215/60-16" tyres Forester06 Nov 2005 09:15 GMT5
My Forester AWD '99 has Dunlop SP Sport 200 E tyres 215/60 - 16"
They're good but after only 30.000 km they already wear out.
What are good, low-priced durable tyres for my Forester?
Are the Yokohama Geolanders (Subaru's standard on Foresters?) a good choise?
will this fit in a B9 ???06 Nov 2005 01:00 GMT5
I've got a friend with a B9 (we have 2 Forrester's) who is helping me
with a move but doesn't have a tape measure (looooong story). Would
anyone know if the following piece of furniture fits into the cargo area
(seats down) of a B9 ?

Just got my new '06 Forester (1st new car in years, replacing '93
Ford Escort!) Yay!
novice q05 Nov 2005 14:05 GMT7
OK - I just got my hands on an old legacy and can see why people like
Subarus.  But, at the risk of being really stupid, what does the extra
lever by the handbrake do?
Thanks - to the most tolerant person who replies!
Q vs H rated Winter Tires - Forester04 Nov 2005 22:51 GMT14
I'm very close to buying some winter tires for my '04 Forester.  I went
into one tire dealer and he was showing me that the Yokohama Geolanders
are H rated and that I should also buy an H rated winter tire.  Is this
necessary? or can I just purchase the Q rated tires that most ...
Subaru cars not designed for downshifting?04 Nov 2005 22:39 GMT25
From time to time I have had a problem downshifting from 5th to 4th on my 05
LGT, even with the clutch fully depressed.
I mentioned this to the Subaru Dealers' service advisor and he told me that
Subarus were not designed to be downshifted, and that the owner's manual
shakes when I break04 Nov 2005 22:13 GMT11
Yeah, it rhymes and I didn't even start out doing that *grin*....
My '99 Forrester has been just wonderful...however, over the last month
or two I've noticed whe breaking at times (mid-speed, higher than 15 ,
lower than 55) there is a distinct shake in the steering wheel....

1-year old used, in great condition.
$35 + *actual* shipping costs (about $8 for priority USPS).
Outback front struts leaking after 12k miles04 Nov 2005 05:43 GMT5
OK, I haven't been too gentle with this car, and perhaps 10% of my driving
has been on gravel roads.  But I've tried not to push it too far, and it has
bottomed-out no more than 5-10 times.  I think I took my '82 Omni on rougher
roads.
95 Impreza Massive Oil Leak04 Nov 2005 05:38 GMT5
Hi, guys
It's probably pretty obvious to you all but I am just an average
Joe, Gas-n-Go, totally clueless car owner.  o_0
Now that we've got that out of the way...
