Does anyone know if you can use a fork mount bike rack on an Impreza Outback Sport and not have it interfere with the hatch back? Thanks.

| front brake disk for 2002 Impreza 2.5 TS | 11 Jan 2006 03:34 GMT | 2 |
We resurfaced them (at almost 90k miles) and installed new OEM pads but it did not help much. At speeds 70-80 mph a moderate braking still causes a serious vibration. Not as bad as before, but still not acceptable. I need to buy new disks. Should I go with OEM or the after market?

| gasket blow chances | 11 Jan 2006 03:06 GMT | 9 |
My wife's 2002 Impreza 2.5TS is affected by that head gasket problem. When the recall was issued the car was treated immediately with a solution pured into the radiator at IIRC 40-50k miles. Impreza is reaching 90k miles now and drives bettent then ever.

| Inner CVJ Boots | 11 Jan 2006 01:22 GMT | 11 |
Our 2001 Outback needs both front inner CVJ boots replaced. In searching earlier threads I found a brief reference saying that an inner boot can be replaced without removing the outer joint from the hub. Also, I believe a rollpin needs to be driven out to remove the shaft end

I hope someone here can enlighten me! On Saturday I drove for 7+ hours in bad weather and was using my wipers quite a bit but alternated between off, intermittent, low, and high as one typically has to do in New England :) On Sunday, I started the car and put

| 94 Legacy w/brake, spring problems | 11 Jan 2006 00:00 GMT | 10 |
New to this group. Minimal mechanical savvy. I have a 94 Legacy and was told I had a broken spring by the shop that replaced my muffler. Took it to a recommended suspension shop and they told me that to replace both springs and struts it would run me about $1,000. Since

| Airbag Light | 10 Jan 2006 21:13 GMT | 2 |
I have a 2002 Outback Limited, recently wrecked and repaired (left front fender, hood, driver door) by a local non-Subaru repair shop (nearest Subaru dealer to where I live is about 40 miles). Both airbags deployed, and the bags, sensors, control module, and seatbelts

I have a 1988 GL series wagon, 4WD with a manual transmission which is quite worn down. I want to take a few days and rebuild the transmission myself. What unforseen difficulties am I ignorant of? Can I buy a bearing

| Rear Axle Removal & Rust (95 Legacy) | 10 Jan 2006 16:52 GMT | 4 |
Any idea how much it will cost if a repair shop drops my rear axle and gas tank to replace my rear brake line---but, due to excessive rust on the axle, they might not be able to re-attach it. What are my options?? Tks....Regards, John

| headlight replacement 99 outback | 10 Jan 2006 14:30 GMT | 3 |
I bought two replacement bulbs from a website that said they would fit my 99 outback. They don't, or at least not easily. They seem to be missing the plastic casing and rubber grommet to plug into the cord, to the battery.

What oil can I use in my 2004 2.5i Outback? It burns some oil (1 litre in 4.000 Km) with sintetic 5-40 oil (CEPSA, MOTUL, CASTROL). Anybody has tried some syntetic oil to reduce this consomation?

| Gas Mileage | 09 Jan 2006 16:16 GMT | 10 |
I just got new tires on my 2002 ll bean outback(this is when it seemed to start happening). I used to get 27-28 mpg on the highway and around 18-20 mpg in town. Now i am lucky to get 18 mpg on the highway and 14 in town. The tires are the same tires that were on the vehicle and ...
