Need Solutions to '91 Legacy Trouble Codes09 Jan 2006 12:29 GMT1
I just checked the Trouble Codes causing my Check Engine light to come
on (it's been coming on for years), and I had quite a few causes.  I
was just wondering if anyone could describe the best way to fix each of
the problems (whether it's possible to fix myself or if I need to take

Brake Line, Rear, Replacement (95 Legacy L)09 Jan 2006 03:23 GMT1
My 95 Legacy L Wagon right rear brake line failed, and I need to replace it.
Got underneath the rear, and it appears as though I have to drop the gas
tank (and possibly more) to get access to the brake line.
Has anyone replaced their brake lines on a 95 Legacy?  Is it painful, or,
P0302, P0304 CEL codes08 Jan 2006 17:31 GMT3
I've been getting CEL codes P0304 or sometimes both P0302 & P0304.
Since these are indicating cylinder misfires on the same (Driver's)
side of the engine, does this normally point to a suspect coil pack ?
When I clear the codes, they disappear for a week or less.
Hesitation & surging in 2006 Forrester08 Jan 2006 07:28 GMT33
Hello.  About 3 weeks ago I purchased a 2006 Forrester.  Right away, I
began having this problem with the car:  when going downhill, the car
begins bucking and surging at about 3000 rpm (in second gear and
higher).
Questions for the geniuses here.08 Jan 2006 05:01 GMT4
I need a bit of advice and some opinions here from all the subaru geniuses.
I have a 91 legacy sedan which has just recently gone south on me.  I'm
wondering if it would be smart to try to get this car fixed, or if I should
have her replaced with something else.  If I do get ...
Removing exhaust heat shield, repairing pipe07 Jan 2006 22:58 GMT3
MY 98 OBLW has developed a hole in the mid-pipe, near the rear of the heat
shield.  I'd like to repair this and avoid buying another pipe for a while.
Can this be done?
As a first step, I know that I'll need to remove the heat shield. The bolts

99 Subaru Outback – Check Engine Light On07 Jan 2006 17:14 GMT7
I have a 99 Subaru Outback with 75000 miles on it that has had the check
engine light on for about two months. It has gone on in the past and stays on
for a week or so then gone off but not this time. I disconnected the negative
battery cable for 20 minutes and when I started the ...

ECU codes P0420 and P144207 Jan 2006 15:09 GMT8
My wife's 2002 Impreza 2.5 TS reports codes P0420 and P1442. First one
is about the oxygen sensor - the diagnostic tool shows it works fine -
there must be somre rare condition which triggers that. So I just choose
to ignore it.
Oil separator cover - what does it need?07 Jan 2006 14:52 GMT3
Now that I have my drive plate off, I noticed that the oil separator
cover is cracked and weeped a little oil - the engine dropped some oil,
nothing serious. This must have been the source.
The old cover was plastic but the new one just received is aluminum.
Replacement Tires07 Jan 2006 05:11 GMT14
I just bought a new 2006 Outback a couple of months ago, as a
replacement for my '98 OBW. So far, I really like the car.
However, I have seen a number of postings about the poor handling
characteristics of the original equipment Bridgestone RE-92 tires,
iPOD in Forester07 Jan 2006 02:11 GMT9
Has anyone found a FM modulator for iPOD that works with the Forester with
its rear window antenna?
I tried from the front seat and can't get a decent signal.
I am hoping there is some high power one out there otherwise I need to
