Drivers side mirror partially works.24 Feb 2006 05:59 GMT2
I ran into this issue after buying my used 2001 Outback Limited Edition
wagon.  I noticed that sporatically the drivers side mirror partially worked
via the electronic movement controls on the drivers side door.  All the
while the passengers side mirror fully worked without ...
WTB tires for '04 Forester in D/FW area23 Feb 2006 22:06 GMT1
I've heard that a lot of Forester owners prefer to upgrade the factory
Geolander tires.  I don't do much offroading so I just need some basic
street tires.  If someone in the D/FW (Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas) area is
planning to upgrade their tires or even just their full size spare ...
Chevron gas stations have increased auto-shutoff sensitivity.23 Feb 2006 21:16 GMT4
To my tremendous annoyance, it looks like Chevron gas stations have modified
their back-pressure sensitivities since the last time I visited British
Columbia. Speaking to attendant after attendant I eventually learned that
they've done this to deal with scam-artists; apparently ...
Poor mileage problem23 Feb 2006 05:39 GMT8
My 98 OBW (240K miles) gets ok highway mileage of around 26mpg at an average
speed of 70 MPH. But if most of my driving is around town that falls to
19-20mpg.  I have noticed that the smell of raw gas is quite strong on cold
starts, and the mileage seems worst when I have a lot of ...
Front console cig. lighter/power outlet question23 Feb 2006 03:42 GMT1
Got a Forrester here, 2004. Somehow managed to get cell phone charger
stuck in the dash outlet.  I mean it's locked in somehow (you know how
those chargers have those stupid open prongs, and the receptacle has
like an open slot in the side?)  I feel pretty stupid and I'd like to
HomeLink Mirror retrofit in '05 USA Forester XT23 Feb 2006 02:45 GMT2
Has anyone done a retrofit of the original autodimming mirror with the
new one that has the "HomeLink" functions built in?
I have the *factory installed) autodimming mirror on an '05 USA
Forester XT, but want to upgrade to the newer model and get rid of the
Transmission fluid wrong?22 Feb 2006 23:04 GMT9
My 2002 Subaru makes a higher pitched hum starting around 45 mph. When
checked I was told it had the wrong transmission fluid in it. I've been
driving it this way for about 6 months, 10,000 miles. Can a car run this
wrong with the wrong fluid? It's a manual transmission, no problems
Clock in my 98 forester22 Feb 2006 18:24 GMT3
the clock near the headliner in my 98 forester is out, it has been out
as long as I have ownerd the vehicle, I was wondering if anyone has had
problems with this, i am hoping this is only a fuse or even just the
clock, I'd really like to not have to dig around in the wirring. If it
98 Impreza Knock Sensor22 Feb 2006 17:02 GMT11
I have a 98 subaru impreza 2.2L.  I got a bad knock sensor code at a chain
repair shop.  I just can't find any diagrams on where it's located and if
it's a job that I can do myself.  I am moderately mechanically inlcined, and
would like to save on labor rates. Any help would be ...
replacing cat converter22 Feb 2006 15:36 GMT4
About to replace the converter on my 00 OBW and was wondering if
anyone here has done so personally and did you run into any problems,
need for unusual tools, etc?

Stick Grind Gears 2006 Forester HELP22 Feb 2006 12:52 GMT3
I just got a Forester.  Never had a Subaru and I love it so far!  One
small concern.  My wife was driving it back from the dealer with less
than 25 miles on it yesterday and it was at night.  She had gotten
confused about the shift pattern and instead of going into 5th gear she

There are quite a few gauges in dash pod being offered on E-bay. Prices
are 3 times less than dealer's for similar configuration.
Have anybody used ...
Buying Used Outback - Advice appreciated22 Feb 2006 10:16 GMT38
I rolled my 1998 Outback limited wagon last week; it had 200k, and was
the best vehicle I've ever owned. I walked away with only a few bruises
and a jammed left shoulder, you just can't say enough good things about
these cars. Anyway I need to replace it, and so -
Crap on my Radio22 Feb 2006 07:19 GMT1
It's not the programming, altho sometimes that's crap too! ;-)
My 02' Forester's cup holder is located on the upper part of the dash,
right over the radio. I have a Forester S with the 6 CD changer model.
It happens that after a trip to the local fast food joint, I noticed
03 Baja Knock21 Feb 2006 20:40 GMT4
Is it unusual for the 4 cyl to knock loudly when first started?
I have noticed that the Baja is louder than it used to be when first
started. It has about 25000 miles on it.
