Hey, all.
I have about 40,000 km on my 02 WRX. I use the turbo fairly rarely, and
I always wind it down after each drive by keeping the car under 3000
rpm for several blocks before parking.

Tribeca with shuddering automatic transmission08 Feb 2006 21:22 GMT2
I have a new Tribeca with a little over 6000 miles.  The problem is the
transmission shudders when shifting from second to third gear at times.  It
is acting as if it can't quite make the shift and moves back and forth until
it finally finds it.
stuck hatchback08 Feb 2006 21:12 GMT2
I have a 1999 Subaru Outback with a stuck hatchback. The remote opener
seems to be functioning properly, since I can hear the locking mechanism
operate when pressing the button, but it does not unlock the trunk. When I
use the key to unlock the hatchback nothing hapens and the trunk ...

Well finally got the '99 Forester back from the dealer today with a new
center differential. Total cost plus four new tires -- $1,600. A few
things. They told me the gasket seal failed and when they opened the
thing up it was full of rust. Whether the situation was the result of
2004 WRX losing power08 Feb 2006 16:24 GMT4
Hey, I have a 2004 WRX that has around 40000 miles on it.  When the car
reached about 30000 miles, I started to feel that it does not have the power
it used to have when I just purchased the car.  When the car is new, I can
definitely feel the turbo kicks on.  Now I don't feel it ...

MP3 CDs in 2006 Legacy08 Feb 2006 03:05 GMT6
The owner's manual says that the CD player can play mp3s. (page 5-42). I
tried a number of different recording modes for mp3 files and none are
recognized. It does recognize conventionally recorded CD's. If anyone has
succeeded can you please post your method in a reply please? ...
Effect of reducing wheels to 16 inch08 Feb 2006 02:03 GMT21
I am about to buy an Outback wagon.  They all come with 17 inch alloys
and55 series tires.   I suspect I would get a smoother/quieter ride over
bumps if I change the tires and wheels to 65 or 70 series and 16 or 15
inch diameter.  Has anyone else done this? (In case it matters, I ...

Thundersnowstorm?07 Feb 2006 21:36 GMT10
Has anyone ever seen a thundersnowstorm? It was the wierdest thing,
usually you don't see thunder/lightening and snow together. I was
driving back to Montreal from Ottawa last night, and half way between,
it struck on the highway. Initially you just noticed that the highway
96 outback07 Feb 2006 20:18 GMT1
Just bought a 96 outback. I talked to a Mechanic about the problem with
leaks in the 2.5 and he told me that the recall conditioner should help
fix an external leak. Well, I seems I have a little leak. I added the
conditioneer right after and have yet to see any results. Any ideas

VSS Replacement for '98 Impreza Outback07 Feb 2006 19:25 GMT4
I posted here a few weeks ago about having a '98 Impreza Outback Sport
with a speedometer that's stuck at 40 mph most of the time and a
transmission which sporadically has issues shifting gears. These two
issues occurred at exactly the same time, so I assumed they were
