06 Forester-What type of oil, how often to change?31 Mar 2006 23:14 GMT12
I am going to be purchasing a 06 Forester shortly.  In the past (my
last car was an Impreza) I used 10W-30 Oil year-round and regular oil
(not synthetic) and changed about every 5000 miles.  I have heard a
lot about synthetic oils and am considering a change. I live in

Hey everyone-
  I have a 1993 Impreza L (2WD) that has served me well. I've noticed
on really cold mornings that it has a tough time going into overdrive
(it's an automatic) - if I'm trying to get up to 60 on the highway

Cruise control was set to 110kph and we were pulling up a long incline.
The speed had dropped back to around 100kph. Without warning the cruise
control dropped out. Disturbing.

The story below is true, but I am not going to mention the
name of the dealer to hopefully avoid a lawsuit.
How much Oil should an 02 WRX burn??30 Mar 2006 18:20 GMT13
Hey, all.
I have an 02 WRX. Not much mileage on it - only 42,000km, which I guess
is about 26,000 miles.
I am bang-on about servicing dates, and am due for a normal servicing

Nice touch for my '97 Outback30 Mar 2006 06:09 GMT2
I just put one of those Wheelskin leather steering wheel covers on my
Outback.  Much nicer feel than the plastic steering wheel, and if you take
your time putting it on right it looks like it came from the factory.  They
come in lots of colors, so you can mix or match them to ...
Ball joints replaced - new clicking noise30 Mar 2006 02:32 GMT4
I have a '95 Subaru Legacy Outback, and yesterday I spent 8 hours at
the garage getting my front ball joints replaced.  After an adventurous
job (a screw broke in the spindle and that had to be replaced, and then
when the mechanics were heating up the old ball joint to get it off ...
anyone want to trade leather seats for cloth seats in 2005 OBW?30 Mar 2006 01:48 GMT3
Does anyone have a 2005 OBW wagon with leather seats you'd trade for
my mother's cloth seats?  She really regrets not buying the leather
seats she wanted, but she also really didn't want the sunroof.  Post
here; I watch this group religiously.  Thanks!
Engine Overheating29 Mar 2006 01:33 GMT3
I recently had a head on crash with my '98 Legacy GT Turbo (BH5) where
I lost my radiator, headlamp among other things. The car was fixed by
the local dealers and my insurance promptly paid up. After about a
