Pilkington Glass windshield replacement?15 Mar 2006 17:33 GMT5
Found a crack on Sunday that I traced to a rock hitting
my windshield on Friday.  Didn't notice anything when
the impact (likely kicked up by a Hummer H2).
I asked about OEM (Nippon Glass?), but my insurance
Transmission problem with 2002 3.0 Outback H615 Mar 2006 14:23 GMT13
I have to admit that I know very little about cars, but would like
someone to help me with this one.
I have a 2002 Outback 3.0H6 that I bought 8 months ago, and the
transmission died and had to stripped and be fixed. The service report
Do any Subaru's take E85?15 Mar 2006 00:50 GMT2
I have read a lot about E85 lately and it seems to be mainly in
American cars. As well, I read today how some cars have been made for
years that can take E85, it just was never advertised.  I'm hoping to
buy a Forester very shortly.  Do any of them work with E85 such as the
Strange odor from front of `01 Forester14 Mar 2006 22:20 GMT6
This sounds goofy, but we are noticing an especially foul odor from under
the hood of our 2001 Forester.  It only occurs after we have driven the car.
The odor dissipates after a few minutes.  It's a strange odor, like nothing
I've ever smelled before.  I've looked under the hood ...
Adjusting subwoofer14 Mar 2006 20:13 GMT6
I have the 2006 Outback 3.0R VDC wagon and, the subwoofer is WAY too boomy
(I have the 7 speaker stereo, I think, with the subwoofer mounted in the
cargo area).  Is there a separate adjustment for it?  I don't see an
amplifier under the seats or anything (I have the navigation ...
22 mpg on '97 Outback I just got.  Sound right?13 Mar 2006 20:35 GMT11
I finally did a mileage check on my new/used Outback.  I got around 22 mpg
with an automatic tranny and mixed city and highway driving.  Does this
sound about right?

ABS problem on 95 Legacy13 Mar 2006 03:08 GMT4
During ordinary driving today, my ABS light came on. At the same time (I
think), a new noise emerged from under the hood. I stopped and looked:
it's some kind of pump near the right-front wheel, with "ABS" on a
nameplate, running continuously. The car runs and brakes OK, but I'm

Yakima Double Cross Rack 06 Outback12 Mar 2006 20:35 GMT1

Stupid window washer question12 Mar 2006 20:30 GMT3
On my old Loyale had two reservoirs for fluid; one for the back and one for
the front.  I can't find anything about the rear washer in the manual for my
'97 Outback, except how to turn it on.  Is the reservoir under the hood for
both front and rear washers?  Or is there a separate ...
O2 sensors12 Mar 2006 18:07 GMT28
My kid has a '05 Impreza (not a WRX). She has had the  third O2 sensor
in 12 months. The dealer doen't think it is anything more then
defective parts. Is this a known issue or are we just unlucky?
Which rotor?12 Mar 2006 05:26 GMT7
About the only thing wrong with my new/used Outback now is a slightly warped
rotor you can feel when gently braking.  My mechanic says leave it alone for
now, and it's not really that bad, but I was wondering...  If you have a
warped rotor, how do you know which wheel it is ...
Porsche and Subaru12 Mar 2006 05:18 GMT7
A guy at work claims that Porsche uses the Subaru Boxer engine as a
replacement engine on the Boxster.
Is there any truth to that ?
I find it hard to believe and could not verify it using Google.
Consumer Reports12 Mar 2006 02:44 GMT37
Have not seen it but nobody in ng mentioned: local paper says Consumer
Reports ranks Forester as best small SUV and WRX as car most fun to
drive.
