Anybody try those Goodyear TripleTreds in the winter?12 Mar 2006 02:17 GMT10
I just got an Outback ('97) with Michelin studdless winter tires on it (just
picked up the car - second Subaru).  I live at a ski resort and I've had
great luck with Blizzaks.  The Michelins are good, but I'm not sure if I
don't think they're as good at the Blizzaks because the ...
When do 2007 Foresters come out? How to find best deal on used Forester?11 Mar 2006 19:38 GMT3
I am currently in the market for a car and have decided for sure on
Forester since it seems to be far better (safety and quality) than any
other small SUV on the market.  I definitely want 2003 or newer for
the side airbags as well as other newer features since there was a
Squeaky AT Shifter11 Mar 2006 06:34 GMT6
I have a 2006 Subaru Outback Wagon 2.5i Base Auto Trans.
I've been experiencing squeaking noises from the shifter trim.  This occurs
when shifting from Park to Reverse and also when driving in rough roads or
hitting a bump.  It gets to be annoying.
1996 2.5L Timing Belt Change Questions11 Mar 2006 03:08 GMT8
The Web is a wonderful source of info - but some of it is
contradictory, and some of it is just plain wrong.  I don't want to
trust some wrong info as I prepare to change the timing belt on my 1996
Outback (2.5L) engine myself for the first time.  With 218,000+ miles
Fuel level reading problem, MY02 Impreza11 Mar 2006 01:58 GMT8
Just lately, the fuel level reading has stopped working accurately in my
Impreza. Seems to work fine from full down to about 1/3 level, but then
the gauge stops moving. The needle never goes below 1/3.
A check of the service information seems to indicate that this is likely
2006 Tribeca Limited10 Mar 2006 11:38 GMT18
I am looking a Tribeca and  Toyota Highlander.  They seem comperable.
Anyone have thought about these cars and which would be preferred amd why.
Looking to move shortly while lease rates are still great and the lease rate
is 0%.
Outback 3.0R 2006 UK Sport mode and Cruise 09 Mar 2006 22:27 GMT2
I notice on an Outback 3.0R that if Sport mode is selected with the gear
shift the Sport indicator illuminates on the instrument panel. If however
Cruise Control is turned on the Sport indicator does not illuminate. Is
this usual on Legacy/Outback models?
1996 Legacy "overheating"09 Mar 2006 20:14 GMT3
My Legacy is a great car and has about 80,000 miles.  For the past year it
has been sporadically overheating on the temp. gauge.  I have tried three
new thermostats and one new radiator.  The guys checked for head gasket
problems and gave me an all clear.  This "overheating" may not ...
How to tell if there is a head gasket leak (Legacy 2.5)?09 Mar 2006 20:01 GMT20
Mom just got a 2002 Legacy 2.5L wagon.  Extremely nice condition and passed
with flying colors both by the dealer's mechanics (it's a certified used
car) and also took it to an certified car shop (all are master mechanics) to
pay for a comprehensive inspection (took 4 hours).  ...
1999 Forester Rubbing Sound?09 Mar 2006 13:23 GMT3
My 1999 Forester L AutoTrans  has a rubbing like sound which seems to be
coming from the rear of the car. It almost sound like a tire rubbing against
the inner wheel well. I have checked the clearances all around the rear end
and can find anything. Rear end fluid is ok and it ...
MY2007?09 Mar 2006 12:31 GMT2
I am considering buying a new Forester.  Just wondering if anyone on
the list has any knowledge or guess on the 2007 model, that is
promised to ship in May.  Do I buy now, or should I rather wait until
May?
WRX-TR or Mazda3 2.3?09 Mar 2006 12:21 GMT2
Tried both this weekend.  WRX TR and Mazda 3 with 2.3 L engine.  Neither has
sunroof, am too tall to want one.
I loved both cars.  Each one, I would buy in a minute, if I was only 6 feet
tall.  I fit more comfortably in the Mazda3, but the WRX is tolerable and a
Dual exhaust on late model Outbacks09 Mar 2006 11:34 GMT2

Outbacks and are they on all versions ?
Forester High Mileage09 Mar 2006 00:39 GMT4
What kind of longevity are folks getting on their Forester? I am
considering buying one with around 130,000 miles on it.  I suppose lots
of things could go wrong at this point...
Odd stereo problem, need some help09 Mar 2006 00:31 GMT3
I am sure lots of you have put aftermarket stereo's in your outbacks,
my problem is with the hatchback and the rear view mirror. The rear
view mirror is not really so much stereo related but it is compounded
by it. The problem is it is really loose, and even when the stereo
