Need help with 96 Legacy electrical problem.08 Mar 2006 22:24 GMT3
I have a 1996 (or 1995.5 depending on how you look at it) Subaru Legacy L
FWD sedan with a (I believe) 1.8L H4.  I replaced the battery about 3
months ago and have started noticing little problems ever since untill it
just died.
Safe-Guard Tire & Wheel Protection/Roadside Assistance08 Mar 2006 19:21 GMT6
When I bought my 2006 Outback 3.0R VDC, the Dealer Finance Person tried to
sell me the "Safe-Guard Tire & Wheel Protection/Roadside Assistance"
(http://www.safe-guardproducts.com/ptire.php) for $499 for 5 years.  She
justified this by telling me that "if I ruined one tire, all ...
`01 Outback Wagon 90k service08 Mar 2006 06:28 GMT3
Hey all,
My 2001 Outback Limited Edition Wagon is due up for it's 90,000 mile service
sometime early-mid summer.  Currently I just passed 82,000 mile mark and I
am curious as to what all of the routine services are for the 90,000 service
'01 Forester interior lamps08 Mar 2006 03:18 GMT2
Does anyone have the bulb numbers for the interior A/T lamp and A/C
button lamp?  I would like to buy one from an auto parts store if there
is a cross for the $8 one my Subaru dealer does not have in stock.
What Subaru to choose (WRX, RS or Legacy) ?07 Mar 2006 05:06 GMT18
I drove a non-turbo Subaru Impreza, and I was impressed with its
handling and acceleration. I would like to buy a few-years old Subaru.
The question is, which one. In the beginning, I wanted an Impreza WRX
because it had a turbo and allegedly provided loads of fun. On the
Testing a code reader06 Mar 2006 23:47 GMT8
Would the easiest way to test a code reader on an Outback be to simply
loosen the gas cap, which should trigger the "Check Engine" light?  I read
that even if you do this by accident, the light will reset after you tighten
the gas cap and after about 10 engine restarts.
Question on warranty...06 Mar 2006 09:20 GMT7
I bought an extended warranty (stupid or not -- at this point I have
it) on my 2002 OBW. At this point I have close to 60,000 miles on the
car. I have done all the required maintenance up until now --
expensive stuff at times....$500 here, $600 there as required by the
transmission problem with Legacy GT06 Mar 2006 09:17 GMT3
I have a 2000 GT Legacy with 51,000 miles which developed a problem
when put from reverse to forward.  The car would not move until I
pressed the gas pedal for awhile.  I took it to a transmission shop
which just advised me that the transmission needed rebuilt at a cost of
Brand New 2006 Forester Premium Automatic05 Mar 2006 16:52 GMT9
I just purchased a brand new 2006 Forester Automatic. Driven it less
than one week.
Subaru gurus...What are some of the maintance things I should do/look
out for as I just start out to maintain this baby for long, long life?
2002 OBW Pulls to Left05 Mar 2006 16:45 GMT8
I have a 2002 Legacy OBW that pulls to the left.
Tires are properly inflated with fairly even tread wear, but they're
also nearly new.
The car has always had a slight pull to the left since new, but never as
Cigarette lighter accessory socket05 Mar 2006 15:18 GMT3
I have a 2003 Forrester with a lighter accessory socket in the compartment.
I use it to run my iPod transmitter and it also powers up the iPod.  The
power goes off with the operation of the ignition key and I have to restart
the ipod whenever I start the engine.  Does anybody ...
Cat converter 2000 model take note04 Mar 2006 01:45 GMT1
A couple days ago I posted here about changing my converter.  Received
assy and went about the install yesterday.  The Converter is an
Eastern Catalytic brand PN# 40237.  I first saw this brand a couple
weeks ago and didn't see them when I first started looking several
'02 WRX Oil Temp sensor (Lamco)03 Mar 2006 23:41 GMT3
Does anybody know where to buy oil temp sensor compatible with Lamco
indicator that was offered as '02 WRX genuine accessory? I got really
ridiculous $200 offer from local Subaru service which I find way too
expensive...I know that a whole indicator/sensor kit from some other
My new 2006 Forester03 Mar 2006 21:51 GMT9
I'm still working out the seat position--it's different for my winter
boots than for my sneakers. There are bells and whistles on a 2006 base
model that weren't on a 1990 base model. There are some definite nifty
things: heat, having a conversation with my daughter without ...
OBD-II code software/interface03 Mar 2006 16:34 GMT6
Can anyone recommend a good OBD-II code software & interface for a pc
running XP OS?
Essentially I'm looking for a diagnostic tool I can use on my own
Legacy to assist me in analyzing why my engine service light stays lit.
