New Forester burning smell?02 Mar 2006 18:02 GMT13
Hi, I have only had my new 2006 Forester (5 spd) for a few days.

my old Honda, but is it normal to have a strong burning smell when I
put it in reverse? This has happened twice and was a bit alarming. Is
Door seals in 98 Forester02 Mar 2006 12:30 GMT3
The door seals (weatherstripping) have partially pulled off on both
rear doors in my Forester. The dealer here in Ottawa tells me it will
cost $180 to fix each (+$100 for the part plus labor). Apparently they
have to take the door apart to install them.

I recently bought a 2001 LL Bean, have put about 1800 miles on it,
mostly highway, 65-75 MPH, in the Southern Appalachians. I'm getting
about 27-28 MPG using premium unleaded, and about 24 MPG in town. Just
wondering what other people are getting with the H6. So far I am not

There seem to be a fair number of complaints about the illumination quality
of the headlights on 2005 Outbacks (search on
http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/complain/complaintsearch.cfm).
Complaints include a sharp cutoff between lighted and dark areas, a lack of

Well, the light has been off and on for several days now, so my mechanic
wants me to bring it in.  My question, however, if more about those code
