Same old HG problems26 Apr 2006 07:30 GMT3
Greetings, all. I am, in most relevant areas, a newbie, so please have
mercy on any ignorance found herein. I've seen that many people have
posted the same and similar problems, and while I hate to waste
anyone's time, due to my lack of vehicle know-how I think I need
Plastic bag on exhaust pipes25 Apr 2006 20:28 GMT5
2003 Legacy L SE Wagon
I was driving on the freeway the other day when a plastic bag flew
underneath my wagon. When I got home, half of the bag had melted onto
the exhaust pipe underneath the engine. I was able to pull half of the
Forrester head gasket24 Apr 2006 23:45 GMT15
hi we have a 2002 forrester in australia and it appears to have just
blown a head gasket. it should be under warranty but they may argue
about the service repair history which has been consistent, just not
every 12500kms like they suggest (given that it costs hundreds of

I am so excited! Well i haven't bought it - just leased it (hoping the

My wife never reads manuals....24 Apr 2006 12:44 GMT6
This afternoon when my wife had an accident, she had never read
the manual and did not know transport of her 4WD was different --
and allowed a tow truck operator to tow it 50 miles with front
wheels up, back wheels on the road.
Did they raise Forester prices?24 Apr 2006 12:37 GMT12
I am going to be buying a Forester LL Bean edition, most likely within
a week but a salesperson I talked to today told me that the MSRP of
the Forester has been raised.  He said I'd get a good price on the
cars on the lot but yet if I buy later and get newer stock that they
Experience with Internet Sales Managers24 Apr 2006 10:07 GMT23
I'm not sure if this is common but I have to share my story from
today.  Well about 3 weeks ago when I decided for sure I want the 06
Forester LL Bean Edition I started contacting all my local dealers to
find who would give the best price.  Well one offered the best price.
Bad Head Gasket, Bad Engine23 Apr 2006 15:27 GMT12
Greetings, all.
For the longest time I thought I was alone... suffering through the
overheating, the AC problems, the gurgling sound under the hood... yet
late in life I come to find that I am indeed not alone... that other
Outback XT or H6 ?23 Apr 2006 12:41 GMT3
I've been a long-time Nissan Maxima owner, but really need to replace my '91
that has 181,000+ miles on it.
I'm probably going to buy an '05 or '06 Outback in the very near future.  I
like the new styling, and now that I live in snow country, I need something
Missing a key concept on reading Subaru trouble codes?23 Apr 2006 03:51 GMT2
Previously posted in the group is a method to use check
engine light flashes to read codes.  I have some service info on my 95
Impreza that has CEL ON.  I've located the two connectors.  I want
to do the check and can count light pulses!
Preventative Maintenance Suggestions?21 Apr 2006 23:31 GMT8
I just bought an Outback.  I keep my cars a loooong time.  I'd like to
know, if anyone knows, what maintenance items are particularly important
to prolonging the life of the vehicle.  For example, should the lubes
(or antifreeze, or ps fluid) in certain sections of the driveline ...
Antenna H*ll on a 1997 Outback Limited21 Apr 2006 19:49 GMT5
Ok, first off....I am an idiot.  Went to an unknown car wash and
completely forget to turn off the radio to retract the power antenna.
The flaps on this horrible car wash snapped it like a twig.
Second, the situation.  I have a 1997 Outback Limited.  The antenna is
raised suspension - name confusion21 Apr 2006 18:44 GMT5
I put in for a quote for an OB Sport on subaru.com.  They sent me back
a listing for a "2006 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport Wagon" with the
features I requested.  Are they just sticking the "Impreza" label in
there just because the Outback is based on the Impreza, or are they
Should I repair my trade-in?21 Apr 2006 15:23 GMT13
Hi:   We have a 1997 Legacy Outback.  It has been parked for the past few
months due to problems with it overheating. ( I start it & let it idle for 10
minutes every few weeks.)
It needs to have the knock sensor, water pump, timing belt replaced.
