1998 Legacy door lock cylinder removal?13 Apr 2006 23:47 GMT1
I need some advice on how to remove and replace the driver's side door lock
cylinder on my 1998 Legacy L.  The key doesn't turn in the lock anymore.
I did take the door trim off.  I cannot figure out how to get the outer
handle assembly off. There are two bolts.  One is under window ...
towing a Legacy AWD13 Apr 2006 05:25 GMT12
I plan to buy a 95 Legacy wagon which will be used for some parts and
then for resale. My concern is how to tow it. I have read that AWD can
only be towed with all four wheels off the ground. I also recently
heard that it can be towed on a car dolley (with the two wheels up and

A few months ago, my friend's car began getting extremely poor mileage
(in the teens on the highway, worse in the city). It also has a strong
smell of gas from the tailpipe. It smells after it is started in the
morning, and even after warming up to operating temperature and driving
95 legacy L - keyless entry fails to lock doors - help!12 Apr 2006 17:25 GMT13
Ahh, a new symptom for my poor car.  Today apparently was the day when the
keyless entry (Chapman aftermarket alarm) system decided it wasn't going to
play nice with the power locks anymore.
Here's what I've done:

numerous times to get the car to unlock.  Scary.. what if I can't get
into my car someday!!!   Yes, I changed the battery but it didn't
change a thing.. I still have the same problem.
Loud TripleTreds on '06 Forester11 Apr 2006 16:18 GMT7
After a few days of online research, I had a set of Goodyear Assurance
TripleTreds installed on my '06 Forester. The idea was to get a good
combination of performance and touring.
Well, the tires aren't exactly quiet. In fact, they seem rather loud. I
Best tire choices for `01 Outback?11 Apr 2006 14:01 GMT17
I am going to be needing to replace my tires on my `01 Outback here within
the next few months.  Currently one of my main options is to goto Costco to
get tires there because if you purchase tires there you get free tire
rotation service for as long as you have the tires.  While ...
.nz tyre recommendation for an rsk b411 Apr 2006 12:43 GMT3
got an rsk b4 that's up for a new set of tires. Currently shod with
215/45 Bridgestone Potenza zr17s (re01) on the stock Subaru alloys.
Grip, noise etc from the Potenzas has been great, but I wouldn't mind
something that lasts a little longer, allowing for a little fun now and

I was looking up a timing belt for a 2001 Forester and I come across 2

Best Windshield Wiper Blades?10 Apr 2006 09:45 GMT14
I replaced the wiper blades on my 2004 Outback Wagon with new blades that squeak
and jump across the windshield.  I replaced those, same problem.  Any
recommendations for quality blades that won't jump around?
Brake fluid question10 Apr 2006 06:56 GMT20
Is topping-off the brake fluid reservoir a routine maintenance task?
I have gone to this local quick-lube place several times, NOT
Jiffy-Lube, each time they top-off my brake fluid. I caught them on the
