Noisey right rear wheel09 May 2006 23:25 GMT1
I have rumbling sound coming from the right rear wheel of my 97 legacy
wagon. CV boots are good and I took off the wheel to look for tire/rim
damage - all looks good. Mileage is about 180 000 but we use it a lot
for trips to the dump and carrying bags of clay - have we trashed a

97 impreza, starting09 May 2006 18:01 GMT2
I have a '97 Impreza (130k miles) that has started taking longer to
start.  It used to start right away within a second or two, now it
takes 4-5 seconds of the starter going to start.  The car runs very
smoothly once it's started and there seems no loss of power.  In fact
Thoughts on buying a rental '05 Outback09 May 2006 03:13 GMT6
My local dealer has a number of 2005 Outback 2.5i models.  The CarFax reports list them as rentals.  They typically have
between 18,000 and 23,000 miles, and they're priced at around $19-$20,000.  I haven't gone to look at them yet, but the
price seems good, and they're what I'm ...

1988 1.8L EFI $1000 college car backfires...need help!08 May 2006 01:40 GMT2
My son decelerated to a stop light and then according to him, when he tried
to accelerate the engine started missing and would not go at all. When I
towed it home, I removed the r/h timing belt cover to find a shredded belt
which I replaced along with the other side. The motor ...

'93 Legacy Wg idles but won't rev up07 May 2006 17:20 GMT3
Coming home last night, the car lost acceleration while I was doing
about 50 mph. The harder I pushed the accelerator, the slower it got,
but letting off the gas, the car idles well. I pulled over to let
traffic by and only had to go about 4 miles to get home, but only by
Followup to 2006 Outback with hesitation06 May 2006 17:46 GMT13
I have a 2006 Outback 3.0 VDC Wagon with the 6-cylinder engine, and, it has
noticeable hesitation, several seconds, when slowing down (NOT stopping) to
turn the corner, then trying to accelerate, or when trying to pass on the
left (I've almost gotten rear-ended).  You push on the ...
headlight switch - modifying?06 May 2006 08:46 GMT9
I am in CA with a new OBW.
It has DRL so the headlights are always on.  I like that, because it
gives me one less thing to remember.  But in the 1st postition of the
switch, while the headlights are on, the taillights ARE NOT on.   The
oil on spark plug boots06 May 2006 00:33 GMT1
I'm new to this group.  I found a message that is two years old about
somebody who found oil on his spark plug boots.  I found the same thing
last night and was wondering what it could be a sign of.

Radiator coolant & blown HGs05 May 2006 19:52 GMT10
I read that there was a 4/2005 bulletin from Subaru indicating that the
best type of radiator coolant to use in a Subaru is a phosphate,
non-anime kind made for aluminum radiators and engines and that is the
only type that should be used.   My question is, what is a commercial
Gear Oil Question04 May 2006 21:08 GMT12
At 58,000 miles I'm ready to change the front and rear gear
oil in my 2003 Forester XS (Auto).
The book specifies 75W-90 for the rear diff,  and 80W-90 in
the front.       I'd like to go synthetic with Mobil 1, but it's only
2000 Outback Keyless Entry Programming Button04 May 2006 20:15 GMT1
I am looking for the programming button and might have found it - there
is a button that is part of the lower dash, just below the hood
release, but there is no ring around it like the literature indicates.
However, there are two brown wires that lead to it, which I believe
