"Subaru Only" wrecking yards?  or other wrecking yards with good stock of Soobiestuff? 07 Jun 2006 04:10 GMT5
Someone off-list gave me the adddress of an 'all-Soobie' wrecking yard
just south of Seattle  and I lost/disremembered it. (and most of my mind
as well)
I'd appreciate it if someone could refresh(recharge?) my memory on this
inspecting valve clearance?06 Jun 2006 16:14 GMT1
I was looking over my 105k mile maintenence schedule:
http://subaru.com/owners/schedules/schedules.jsp?schedulepage=2001myfed.html
And I came across at the bottom of the list to inspect the valve
clearance.  How would I do this and is it really necessary?
another possessed car06 Jun 2006 15:14 GMT1
The remote/keyless system on my 96 Subaru legacy is playing up bigtime.
About a week ago the car broke down and I had to have the
alternator/battery replaced.  After picking it up a couple of days ago,
everything seem to run fine, but then yesterday after turning it off,

Tire pressure question05 Jun 2006 06:13 GMT13
On my tires there's a notice saying "max pressure 44 psi", while on the
driver's side pillar the manual for the Subaru Outback refers you to a
sticker, which indicates pressure of between 29 psi for front wheels and
29 - 35 psi depending on number of passengers.
if you run your fingers across my car, i'll run my car across your fingers.05 Jun 2006 04:47 GMT10

I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to mechanics but any
1990 Subaru Legacy- worth fixing?05 Jun 2006 02:55 GMT4
A friend of mine has a 1990 Subaru Legacy L with 4WD and  a 2.2 liter
engine.  Unfortunately it has, among other things, shot wheel bearings
and CV joints and needs $800 or so in work.  It runs good, doesnt have
much rust, and the engine seems to have good power and low oil
Outback Bench Seat05 Jun 2006 02:42 GMT2
I have a 2000 Outback and can't get the rear bench seat to pull up.
The owner's manual says there is a pull tab which I can't locate.  When
starting to pull up the driver's side comes up fairly well; however,
the passenger side won't budge.  Any ideas on how to get the bench seat
Error in average MPG display05 Jun 2006 01:11 GMT21
I was really pleased to see what high average mpg I was getting on the
display in my brand new OBW (2006 2.5i, manual trans).  28.5 mpg and up
on my regular commute of about 22 miles highway and 3 subarban/city.
Then I filled the tank.  The display, which I had reset when I first
Hard starting Outback05 Jun 2006 00:05 GMT3
My Outback is "hard starting", meaning that it revs and revs and
revs (whatever its doing) for up to 20 seconds before starting.  This
only sometimes occurs and I have not been able to determine a pattern.
I recently replaced the fuel filter and had thought that perhaps the
coolant conditioner04 Jun 2006 19:31 GMT9
Does anyone have the coolant conditioner part number for the recall
WWP99?  My Forester got in a wreck and the radiator got tosted.  Now
there is a new radiator, but the old one had the recall info and part
number on it.  I just need to get some of that stuff to dump into the
2006 Outback seatbelt warning04 Jun 2006 00:21 GMT3
Is there a way to "kill" the seatbelt alarm in the 2006 Outbacks?  We always
wear our seatbelts, and I don't want to start that debate - but that alarm
can be quite annoying at times. Anybody know how to kill it in such a way
that it can be hooked up again later?
03 OBS sputters on first takeoff and check engine light flashes 11 times02 Jun 2006 21:23 GMT1
I have a 2003 OBS with 110,000kms(65,000 miles) and I have been
experiencing some sputtering.

Car starts fine, idles fine.
CV boot replacement 101, please02 Jun 2006 16:00 GMT4
Useful threads here tell me that the
odor I smell from both mine and my
wife's 2001 Foresters is the result of
a leaky CV joint boot over the exhaust.

Any thoughts on which of these is the better one to go with:
