The WRX starts up and runs fine after a jump, but then wont start after siting for awhile. Probably the battery right ? The + post was dirty so i cleaned it off. Turns over after siting, but its real slow. Can a battery go just like that ? It was ok yesterday, parked it last night ...

I have a new 06 Toyata MAtrix with Front wheel drive, I purchased the car last sept, and I am not crazy with the traction in the snow here in the Northeast. never looked at a Subaru yet, but what model station wagon has the most room and gets the best fuel mileage, I am getting ...

| Legacy - 95 - Died, wouldn't start--then, ran fine | 22 Jul 2006 01:46 GMT | 2 |
My daughter is driving my 95 Legacy L wagon (130K), and she called me today stating that the car died at the bank drive-thru window...she tried to re-start, and nothing. She got it pushed into a parking stall....then, 10 minutes later it started right up.

| Strict City MPG on a 97 Legacy 2.2l engine-18 mpg Is something wrong? | 21 Jul 2006 17:05 GMT | 10 |
Mileage has never been anything very good on this car. I can squeeze 26-30 on the highway, maybe a tad more if I hold it under 705. My latest fill...with 180 miles of strictly city (Joliet, it does have a lot of lights and stop signs) worked out to a dismal 18 mpg. Never

| Bad inner CV joint fresh from the shop? | 21 Jul 2006 05:12 GMT | 1 |
I just yesterday got my 93 Subaru Imprezza (front wheel drive) back from my auto shop. It had been in for a few reasons. My starter was failing, it made clicking noises when accelerating around turns, and it was up for inspection.

| Rear Struts | 20 Jul 2006 17:59 GMT | 9 |
I recently had a ball joint replaced, and the guys at the shop tell me the real struts and mounts need replaced. Better than $600, mostly parts. This seems possible, as once in a while the rear end is a bit clunky.

I have an outback that was over heating so I took it into the dealer. They just told me that I need to replace the radiator, upper and lower hoses, ac belt, power steering belt and the thermostat. They said the lower hose was collapsing due to the vacuum. Is that normal to replace

| Replacement bumper question | 19 Jul 2006 23:13 GMT | 4 |
Our 2006 Forester was involved in a sort of freak accident--a guy was hauling a sofa on the highway and it blew off and guess where it landed--right in front of our car. In any case, the body shop replaced and re-painted the bumper cover. However, a few weeks later when it was

| loss of low end power in '03 outback | 19 Jul 2006 21:34 GMT | 1 |
My condescending dealership says my car is fine, but.... This 2003 Legacy Outback with a 4 cylinder engine appears to have very little torque below 3500-4000 rpm, at which point it becomes more drivable.

| Leaky Outback tailgate | 19 Jul 2006 16:13 GMT | 3 |
On my 99 OBW (Gen3), the lightbar across the tailgate takes on significant amounts of water following heavyish showers or a carwash. The lower half of the two lamp clusters fills with water and the overflow floods the inside of the tailgate and the sparewheel well. This has been ...

| Replacing hoses & belts in my `01 OBW. | 19 Jul 2006 13:33 GMT | 8 |
I'm curious as to how hard it is and what tools are needed to replace radio hoses and other needed hoses/belts in my OBW? It's not critical to do now, but I may want to attempt that later this fall if I have free time. The dealership wanted to rape my wallet of $450 for that. ...

| Replacing timing belt on `01 OBW | 18 Jul 2006 23:28 GMT | 4 |
A friend of mine, former service manager for the subaru dealership, has offered to perform my 90,000 Subaru recommended service for me personally at a significantly less charge than that of the dealership. The dealership charges around $750 for the service. Even if this guy ...
