Does any one know the cost for a 200,000 km service. Several quotes have
been between $750.00 to $800.00, and that's here in Australia. I have also
been told it will take 5 or more hours, any hints on what they actually do

paint swirls18 Jul 2006 04:20 GMT6
We have a dark blue Forester. We had some scratches repaired on the
rear quarter panel, and after repair I complained to the body shop that
in direct sunlight I could see a pattern reflecting left by the buffing
machine. They said they could polish this out. They did, I guess, but I
'97 Outback oil consumption18 Jul 2006 01:30 GMT19
My new/used Outback is going through a quart of oil about every 2000 miles.
This sounds about normal to me.  What say you?  The engine has about 35k on
it.
Thanks.

1991 Subaru Legacy non-turbo indicates knock sensor trouble code17 Jul 2006 15:00 GMT3
I have a 1991 Legacy sedan with around 116,000 miles on it, and the
check engine light recently came on. After hooking up the test

according to the repair manual, a problem with the knock sensor that
Anybody have any luck with naming mp3 folders in Tribeca CD player?16 Jul 2006 21:39 GMT2
Took delivery on a heavily discounted '06 5Pass Tribeca Ltd the other

the Tribe. Well it does play them quite well however I cannot seem to
have the folder titles show up in the menu navigation.
1999 Forester Turn signal & Hazard problem16 Jul 2006 04:30 GMT4
My 1999 Forester's turn signals and hazard lights fail to work about 90% of
the time. There are times when I engage one of the switches (R turn, L
turn, or Hazard) and just leave it on, and after a varying period of time
(~2 - 5 minutes) the appropriate lights will begin to flash.
Overhaul advice - 94 Legacy 2.216 Jul 2006 03:49 GMT3
I'm going to yank the engine out of my 94 Legacy and overhaul it. 100,000
miles, blown head gasket, still runs but overheats. I'm looking for specific
do's and don'ts, things to do, things to watch out for. I worked as a
mechanic for years, still have all my tools, and have been ...
car stereo stolen16 Jul 2006 03:15 GMT2
My car stereo was just stolen and in the process the majority of my
consol/dashboard was ripped out.  I own a 1997 Impreza Outback.  I was
wondering if anyone could tell me where to get cheap dashboard/consol
parts, either on the internet or in/near oakland/berkeley.
1997 Subaru Outback16 Jul 2006 03:11 GMT2
Looking at getting this rig, however, there is a slight tick in the engine,
particular when you rev it up.
Is this something I should be concerned with?
160kms and timing belt changed.

screws and brake calipers on '02 Impreza14 Jul 2006 18:34 GMT7
I took my '02 Impreza (80K) to a non-Subaru mechanic to have the front
brake pads replaced. He said that the screws holding the pads are too
tight, and that if the screws break, he will have to replace the
calipers as well (an additional $500 from my pocket). I tolf him to
