Injector pulse?14 Jul 2006 05:24 GMT2
Prior to a 3000 mile trip I took my '01 outback to the nearest Subie dealer
who happens to be 140 miles from home.
They gave the engine, 2.5 with 65K miles, a clean bill of health.  I
mentioned a tapping noise on cold start even in hot weather.  The service
Forester turbo - how reliable?13 Jul 2006 17:41 GMT2
My 2001 Forester is a bit sluggish (especially at high elevations). But it
seems pretty reliable...I bought 100K miles/7 years extended warranty
(together with the car in 2000), but never used it so far.
My question's about new Forester models with turbo engine: how reliable are
02 Outback trailer wiring?13 Jul 2006 02:13 GMT7
I've pulled a small trailer a few times recently with my 02 Outback.  While
the trailer lighting pigtail on the car tests normal without the trailer
hooked up, and shows current at the appropriate times for each of the three
connectors, the lights on the trailer never come on when ...
Pressing gas pedal while starting?12 Jul 2006 23:15 GMT6
I noted that in the subaru owner's manual (I have an '05 automatic
impreza), it says that if the engine does not start, to try starting first
with the gas pedal pressed part way down and then to try with the gas
pedal pressed all the way down.
WARNING - Subaru doesn't honor warranties12 Jul 2006 16:55 GMT20
SUBARU DOESN'T HONOR THE WARRANTY
-----------------------------------------------------
Even though my 2002 Impreza WRX was still under warranty.  Lee's Hyundai
Subaru denied my warranty on a transmission because I installed an exhaust
CR says newer Forester models are worse than older ones12 Jul 2006 16:15 GMT9
Consumer Reports article on Forester (Drive Test section) says that older
models of Forester were better (in terms of drivability) than the most
recent one. Does anybody know why such change: usually newer models tend to
be better than older ones? Will Subaru fix these problems?
STEERING WHEEL SHAKING?12 Jul 2006 14:56 GMT3
My 2003 subaru legacy wagon (50k) is having this problem with a shaking
steering wheel and a little pulling to the right side.  About 2 months ago I
got really nice new Goodyear tires and new brakes and rotars on the front.
The shaking went away for a while and so did the pulling, ...
2005 Impreza, Oil consumption?... 4000rpm Engine Knock?12 Jul 2006 09:03 GMT7
I know it's been a topic before but are there others that have been
consuming oil in their non-turbo 2.5L?
I have reported to my dealership that i have needed more than 1L
between oil changes; and was told 1.5L between oil changes is "Normal".
Pulling ABS fuse?12 Jul 2006 05:25 GMT11
My son is to do an advanced driver training course in the family
Liberty soon. His car doesn't have ABS, and I'd rather he learn
to threshold brake without it. I've heard that the ABS fuse can
be pulled to disable it. Does this have any other side effects,
burnt rubber smell12 Jul 2006 03:07 GMT2
We had this problem on 1999 Impreza and now have same problem on 2000
Forester.
Forester smells like burnt rubber from front end after a 20 mile drive.
Everything appears OK under hood. Belts, hoses, wires, etc. all OK. I have
Unusual breakin12 Jul 2006 00:30 GMT10
Thought I'd post this in case it's a larger Subaru problem, although I
hope it's not. My 2000 Forrester was entered and searched by a thief
last night while it was parked in the driveway. They took $10, so not a
big deal. I thought I'd locked it but maybe I'd forgotten, since there
Legacy GT revs high11 Jul 2006 19:28 GMT5
I got myself a 2006 Legacy GT about a month ago. I'm starting to notice that
the car is losing it's "punch" during acceleration. I used to get good
acceleration at 3000rpm but now I don't feel it until 5000rpm.
Is this normal or is something wrong with the computer?
would 97' 2.0  legacy wagon be affected by gasket problem?11 Jul 2006 19:08 GMT1
would 97' 2.0 legacy wagon mede in Italy be affected by gasket problem?

Post head gasket repair anxiety11 Jul 2006 17:53 GMT6
I have a 99 DOHC Subaru Outback.  It's been a great car for us.  It's
got about 120K on it.  Not a lick of trouble until about 3 weeks ago.
When it began to overheat.  Took it in to the shop.  They said it was
low on coolant.  Refilled coolant and sent us on our way.  About 5 days
Recommended independent Subaru mechanics in Raleigh, NC area?11 Jul 2006 17:23 GMT2
I'm considering buying a late model or new Subaru, probably a Legacy
wagon or Legacy Outback wagon. Probably a 4-cylinder engine, non-turbo
model.
While I'm considering this, can anyone recommend an independent Subaru
