Thanks.

First *long* trip with my STi.11 Jul 2006 07:16 GMT2
I took my '04 Canadian-Spec STi on an extremely long trip last month, and I
thought I'd report to the group my experiences. It was relatively
uneventful (but exhilerating) for the most part, except for one major hitch
which put a bit of a crimp in the vacation experience.

Head Gaskets - repeat failure11 Jul 2006 05:25 GMT10
1998 GT Wagon (USA)
I just had the head gaskets replaced and the engine re-sealed at a
Subaru dealer in New Englad after the engine overheated.
One week later and 300 miles away from that dealer, the engine
Connecting an iPod to Forrester audio unit11 Jul 2006 04:25 GMT6
My 20 yo daughter's 2001 Forrester we bought for her has a very nice factory
in-dash AM/FM cassette, 6 CD changer unit. My daughter is looking for a way
to easily connect her iPod so she can avoid listening to the radio or CDs.
We've tried radio frequency adapters and she has ...
2001 Forester sluggish11 Jul 2006 02:58 GMT2
I'm wondering if someone can shed some light on a problem I'm having
with my '01 Forester. I had it into the dealer a couple weeks ago but
they said the computer didn't find a problem. On most mornings, it
hesitates when I go to move out of the driveway. I have the accelerator
subaru viscous coupling problem11 Jul 2006 01:23 GMT4
Hello everyone.  I have a Subaru 1998 Outback which has been a disaster
since I bought it used in 2001.  Although it has only about 80,000
miles on it, I have replaced the viscous coupling, the harmonic
balancer, the clutch--and I just paid a ton to replace a blown head

My question:
Can a tuneup affect the performance of a Griffin RoadTrip iPod player?10 Jul 2006 08:12 GMT2
Recently, I had the 100k mile tuneup on my 2000 OBW, including new
sparkplugs, etc.  Prior to the tuneup, my RoadTrip wireless FM iPod
player worked well.  Now, there is a high-pitched background tone that
makes listening to the iPod through the RoadTrip unbearable.
2005 OBW - 2nd cat retired09 Jul 2006 14:35 GMT4
My wife's 2005 OBW just had it's second catalytic converter go south.  The
first was shortly after 15k and this one went at 22.5k (conveniently enough
at a service interval).  The dealer service manager says it's the way
California gas is formulated and the ECU settings required. ...
Towing a pop-up camper08 Jul 2006 17:32 GMT6
I recently bought a 2000 Outback Limited wagon, and am looking at a
small popup camper--about 1200 pounds "dry" weight.  Have some of you
pulled one, or am I making a mistake?  Thanks.

turn it on, but when I turn on the air con', the switch activates (goes red)

New Haynes Outback manual not really for Outbacks?07 Jul 2006 03:48 GMT2
I contacted Haynes regarding a manual due to come out this month titled,
"Haynes Subaru Legacy/Forrester ('99-'05)" because it has the same ISBN
number (1563926237) as the following titled book on Amazon.com, "Subaru
Legacy/Forrester 00-06 created by Chilton".  My question was, ...
Where is fuse for CD Player?07 Jul 2006 01:25 GMT1
The CD player on my '97 Impreza went dead recently.
No activity at all. I've been told I may simply need to
replace the fuse. But I am not sure where that fuse is
located. The owner's manual is very vague. So I am
'97 Outback misfire/hesitation?06 Jul 2006 23:07 GMT4
This problem is hard to describe, but when just cruising down the road at
speed the car will sometimes hesitate for an instant and then pick up again.
Since the CEL never comes on I find it hard to believe it's a misfire, and
wonder whether it might be the tranny searching for a ...
