Window tinting advice?22 Aug 2006 13:25 GMT2
My new Forester came without tinted rear windows.
The radio antenna is embedded in one of the rear windows. Would tinting
affect reception?
What kind of film, and what degree of tinting is best?
92 Subaru Loyale - Front Right Inner CV Boot and Catalytic Convertor22 Aug 2006 05:08 GMT3
First a bit of history:
Two and a half years ago, I had the front right CV boot replaced
because it
was developing a crack.
1998 Forester Clutch Issues21 Aug 2006 23:32 GMT5
I've searched and seen the postings about the '98 Forester clutch
problems. Not sure if I fall into that group.
I purchased the vehicle from the original owner when it had 28K miles
on it, and I'm now at 65K. It's always had the clutch chatter problem,
Help- Power steering fluid mixed with gas21 Aug 2006 21:41 GMT7
Yeah, I know that sounds really dumb. But I somehow managed to do that.
Poured half a bottle(~8oz)  of power steering fluid in the fuel tank
(10 gallons) of my 1997 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. Is that a
potentially dangerous thing for the engine? What could be a possible
2002 Impreza WRX21 Aug 2006 21:25 GMT4
My fog lights no longer turn on when the switch is pressed.  Does anyone
know how to fix them?
thanks
Sluggish Forester Revisited21 Aug 2006 21:22 GMT11
I asked about a sluggish '01 Forester last month and tried the
suggestions. I also had it into Subaru yesterday and got the plugs and
wires changed. A misfire in one of the cylinders developed in the
meantime (the car was rocking at stop lights). The work seems to have
2002 WRX - resale value21 Aug 2006 20:41 GMT2
I have an 02 WRX with about 35000 miles on it. I'm in Canada. Up here,
it's 48000 km. ;-)
It's a lease, and the lease is up next month. The buyout is about $17k
CDN, which is likely about $15k USD.
Stuck driver-side front axle21 Aug 2006 18:59 GMT7
I have a 1993 Subaru Legacy L 4x4 wagon with a driver-side outer cvboot
ripped in half. Noticed it after some thumping sounds in that wheel
well showed up. Gonna replace the axle but I can't get the splined end
out of the steering knuckle/hub! I have done everything to it, the
06 STI Tires and Wheels - bad for snow?21 Aug 2006 16:55 GMT21
I was very close to purchasing my 06 STI today.   The salesman is now saying
that I will need to purchase new (smaller) wheels AND larger all season or
snow tires as the current wheels and tires will not be appropriate for
driving in upstate New York.  Is this really a problem or ...
Impreza TS transmission problems21 Aug 2006 16:52 GMT7
I'm having ongoing problems with my 2003 Subaru impreza TS wagon.  Last
year with only 55000 km on it (about 33000 miles) I had the 1st and 2nd
gear synchros replaced because of grinding when I shifted into 1st
gear.  Now, one year later I have grinding when shifting into 1st gear
06 WRX TR WALLPAPER21 Aug 2006 14:32 GMT1
Does anybody have any good wallpaper for this car?
Help with value of an old Subaru21 Aug 2006 02:54 GMT6
Hi everyone.  I recently bought a new Legacy GT and am trying to sell
my 1993 Impreza LS but am having a hard time putting a price on it.
Normally I would just look it up on Kelly Blue Book and be done with it
but I have put a fair amount of work into it.  Hopefully someone could
hydraulic tensioner20 Aug 2006 02:38 GMT4
I need some advice from you Subaru mechanics, please.  I recently had
the timing belt replaced on my 98 Outback at 105K, at the Toyota
Dealership were I bought the car used several years ago.   12 days and
850 miles later, the tensioner broke and the bolt on the idler pulley
Subaru's strange "ACC/ON"  logic20 Aug 2006 01:22 GMT7
This goes beyond the mystery switch on top of the steering wheel pod.
You have to have the key in the ON position to work the power windows,
but the heated seats work in the ACC position.
I spent the last week doing contractor watch, mostly sitting in my '00
Thumping sound from my 98 forester19 Aug 2006 16:26 GMT3
Well here is all the background and I hope to God one of you may be
able to help diagnose:
Well I set off to move from Oregon to Texas for school, I filled my car
with an tremendous amount of odds and ends and drove off. About 1,500
