| 2002 Forester noisy valve lifters! | 19 Aug 2006 16:22 GMT | 8 |
Searching this group, sounds like many owners have this problem. Ticka-ticka-ticka-ticka. I noticed it more when the engine was cold and in cold weather, but in the last year or so, it has been more prevalent in warmer weather than ever before. REALLY noticable.

| 03 era Forester Feedback | 18 Aug 2006 19:37 GMT | 2 |
I'm looking at baying a co-workers 03 Forester. He bought it new and it has 25K on it now. Haven't talked price yet. A few questions, - what's it worth? It's the xs model or whatever the top of the line is. About the only thing it doesn't have is the sun roof and leather.

I suspect there is a leak. But, this is an R12 system :( My shop said I might be able to convert to 134a but it's gonna cost ~ $175 and then they can start to trouble shoot a leak. Are there any better options? Mike

| 2006 Forester tire noise relief | 18 Aug 2006 14:13 GMT | 3 |
With only 3900 miles on the odometer, I destroyed an OEM Yokohama tire on my new Forester the other day- must have hit something nasty, as there was a one inch slit in the tread just at the sidewall. Funny thing is I did not see or hear anything but the thump-thump of the rapidly ...

| 1998 Forester Overheating | 16 Aug 2006 22:03 GMT | 3 |
I just bought a 1998 Forester with around 149k. I got a steal on the car ($1k) as it had a known overheating problem. Just curious if anyone has had a similar issue to this..... It will run at normal (midway temp) all day long if moving down the road, but as soon as you

| 86 Subaru GL SW, 1.8 | 16 Aug 2006 21:14 GMT | 5 |
Heh. There's the model. My lovely Subaru died Sunday, and I am at a loss. I'm kind of limited on funds, and do what I can a s a novice mechanic (I can generally pinpoint most things and fix them myself), but this one eludes me.

| 2003 Forester--Battery Discharge with Medical Device | 16 Aug 2006 20:53 GMT | 6 |
I'm trying to determine how deeply I draw power from my battery when a medical device is attached to it, 12v dc. I don't know the amp-hour draw. I talked to the medical company and all they can tell me is on a 'normal' battery it should be OK for 10 hours. I've been running the ...

| Transmission question | 16 Aug 2006 16:11 GMT | 3 |
I have a 1992 Sub Legacy Auto with 190k kms that runs very well but the transmission shifts 1st to 2nd but not 2nd to 3rd. Reverse is fine and no noise, grinding or slipping. There is no modulaor valve on this model so if some has a answer that won't mean a rebuild or replacement
