2002 Forester noisy valve lifters!19 Aug 2006 16:22 GMT8
Searching this group, sounds like many owners have this problem.
Ticka-ticka-ticka-ticka.  I noticed it more when the engine was cold
and in cold weather, but in the last year or so, it has been more
prevalent in warmer weather than ever before.  REALLY noticable.
03 era Forester Feedback18 Aug 2006 19:37 GMT2
I'm looking at baying a co-workers 03 Forester.  He bought it new and
it has 25K on it now.  Haven't talked price yet.  A few questions,
- what's it worth?  It's the xs model or whatever the top of the line
is. About the only thing it doesn't have is the sun roof and leather.
90 Legacy A/C18 Aug 2006 17:20 GMT4
I suspect there is a leak. But, this is an R12 system :( My shop said I
might be able to convert to 134a but it's gonna cost ~ $175 and then
they can start to trouble shoot a leak. Are there any better options?

getting deposit back18 Aug 2006 16:25 GMT5
Ok I put a deposit down on a car.  I did not sign anything for the loan
and I did NOT take the car off the lot, it is still at the dealership.
Is it possible to get my deposit back and how hard is it usually?
Thanks,
2006 Forester tire noise relief18 Aug 2006 14:13 GMT3
With only 3900 miles on the odometer, I destroyed an OEM Yokohama tire on my
new Forester the other day- must have hit something nasty, as there was a
one inch slit in the tread just at the sidewall. Funny thing is I did not
see or hear anything but the thump-thump of the rapidly ...

Touchup painting17 Aug 2006 16:54 GMT13
Recently I just purchased a 2n1 pen/brush bottle of touchup paint for my `01
OBW for the 'champaign' colored plastic front bumper.  There are sone
scratches it in that actually have scratched down into the black plastic
molding which is underneath the paint.  Yesterday I ...
99 Legacy sed. half shaft R & R <== questions17 Aug 2006 02:58 GMT4
I have a 1999 Legacy sedan 2.2 (auto trans). I have never done half
shafts on any car (I always had rear wheel drive cars until 1999).
Can someone tell me the steps to remove & replace the half shafts?
I have the correct socket for the axle nut. After I remove the
06 STI and WRX Impreza - Premium fuel recommended or REQUIRED?16 Aug 2006 23:04 GMT38
Do both of these cars REQUIRE premium fuel?  Can I use regular fuel with a
performance hit or will it damage the engine?
I am talking about the 06 models
Thanks.
1998 Forester Overheating16 Aug 2006 22:03 GMT3
I just bought a 1998 Forester with around 149k.  I got a steal on the
car ($1k) as it had a known overheating problem.  Just curious if
anyone has had a similar issue to this..... It will run at normal
(midway temp) all day long if moving down the road, but as soon as you
86 Subaru GL SW, 1.816 Aug 2006 21:14 GMT5
Heh. There's the model.
My lovely Subaru died Sunday, and I am at a loss. I'm kind of limited
on funds, and do what I can a s a novice mechanic (I can generally
pinpoint most things and fix them myself), but this one eludes me.
2003 Forester--Battery Discharge with Medical Device16 Aug 2006 20:53 GMT6
I'm trying to determine how deeply I draw power from my battery when a
medical device is attached to it, 12v dc. I don't know the amp-hour draw. I
talked to the medical company and all they can tell me is on a 'normal'
battery it should be OK for 10 hours. I've been running the ...
Transmission question16 Aug 2006 16:11 GMT3
I have a 1992 Sub Legacy Auto with 190k kms that runs very well but the
transmission shifts 1st to 2nd but not 2nd to 3rd. Reverse is fine and
no noise, grinding or slipping. There is no modulaor valve on this
model so if some has a answer that won't mean a rebuild or replacement
wrx spoiler16 Aug 2006 12:10 GMT1
Are there any places that sell the 2006 wrx spoiler besides having to go
through the dealer?  The color is obsidian black.
Thanks,
Paul
