1993 Subaru Legacy: sluggish window motors?16 Aug 2006 06:50 GMT2
Our 1993 Legacy has real slow window motors, and the sunroof is maybe a
little slow as well. The windows struggle to close, and the auto-stop on
the driver's one doesn't work. Does anybody else have this problem? Is
it the motors, or does something need to be lubricated, or what? ...
Stuck/rusted Tailgate Latch - manual release?16 Aug 2006 03:49 GMT1
So my rear gate latch (01 outback) has been rusting over the years and
finally decide to quit working.  while i know i'd have no problem
replacing the assembly myself (suggestions for online store?), the
first trick is actually opening the gate!  can't find reference to a

New tires for an Outback?14 Aug 2006 18:39 GMT6
It's time for new tires on my 2000 Outback, and I'm debating what to
get. Right now I'm debating between either Goodyear Assurance TripleTred
and BF Goodrich Traction T/A-H tires. Any useful comments are welcome,
especially in areas regarding gas mileage, snow traction (I'm in
SPAM: Roadmate 860T impressions?13 Aug 2006 22:05 GMT1
I see all reviews on pricegrabber for Roadmate 860T are positive.
Does anyone have any pet peeves about the unit? Buggy software still?
Do the toys for 700/760 (like dashboard mount) work with 860?
Thanks.
Excessive tread wear on my XT13 Aug 2006 18:35 GMT4
I'm looking for feedback from other XT (Outback or legacy) drivers. My
Outback XT has 27K miles on it. The original tires are just about done.
Because I use snow tires, these tires probably only have 23K on them.
Nice, even tread wear and inflation has been well maintained.  ...
imprezza speedometer13 Aug 2006 05:30 GMT7
Hey group,
The speedometer on my 93 Imprezza is not working properly. (It reads 80 -
100 mph at about 30mph).  However the odometer is clocking correctly.  Where
should I look?  Is it one of the cables?  Or maybe something else?
Better gas mileage with Super octane?13 Aug 2006 05:19 GMT32
My car is an 2000 OBW, with a 2.5L H4, recommended gasoline is just
regular (87 octane). Now I've read in magazines and online that cars
designed for regular can't really take advantage of higher octanes, so
you shouldn't even bother to put higher octane fuel in, it's just a
2006 Legacy UK spec stereo model13 Aug 2006 01:46 GMT4
Can anyone tell me the model no. of the original equipment radio/CD fitted
in a 2.0R Legacy?
I've just ordered the car and the dealer wants a fortune for the CD changer
so I'm looking to buy the changer from an audio dealer instead.
[Q] 2.5l engines13 Aug 2006 01:03 GMT1
All three 2.5L US Impreza engines (RS/OBS,WRX & STI) are interference
engines.
Right? Still a way to go before the timing belt but nice to know in
advance.
OIL LEAK13 Aug 2006 01:02 GMT3
I think my oil pan is leaking at the drain plug.   I've replaced the
plug, but no luck, no matter how tight I get it, the oil leaks, at a
good clip.  Has anyone had this problem?  Is the only choice replacing
the pan?   And is that a pretty easy job, is it just unbolting the pan
2007 L.L. Bean Outback - Premium Fuel Recommended But Not Required?13 Aug 2006 01:00 GMT2
I was looking at some info on the 2007 L.L. Bean Outback and it said
"premium fuel is recommended but not required."
http://www.cars101.com/subaru/outback/outback2007.html
Is that a change for 2007?  Any one know what would be the effect of
Outback XT vs 2.5i Fuel Economy12 Aug 2006 22:38 GMT3
I'm thinking of buying a new Outback, and am leaning towards the XT,
but am a little hesitant because of concerns about the decreased fuel
economy as compared to the standard 2.5 engine.
Any info regarding the mileage per gallon of either engine would be
