| Automatic transmission problem? | 09 Aug 2006 03:59 GMT | 2 |
Hello all. I have a 1992 Subaru Legacy Station Wagon and it's been working pretty well up 'till now. It starts just fine and when I shift into drive the car runs fine. But when I go up a hill, the tachometer suddenly leaps up to 4 or 5 but the speedometer refuses to go above 25

| check engine light (04 WRX) | 09 Aug 2006 03:30 GMT | 5 |
I just bought an 04 WRX with 50K miles. Runs great, very tight. After a tank of gas, the check engine light went on. The manual (and the inside of the filler door) says to make sure the cap is on tight. I retightened (it didn't seam loose) and after a couple drives, it went out ...

| Rough shifting | 09 Aug 2006 02:11 GMT | 15 |
I just noticed this yesterday and although it doesn't seem like a big issue, I want to run it past everyone here. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd gears I've started to notice a very slight bit of 'roughness' just as I shift into 3rd. The car moves fine, the gears take hold just ...

| Noisy rear suspension | 09 Aug 2006 02:08 GMT | 3 |
My 98 GT Wagon has developed a clunky sound coming from the rear right. This is when crossing recessed manhole covers, minor bumps in the road. Seems to be more pronounced at lower speeds, too. What parts of the rear suspension are likely to wear out at 130k miles?

| does AWD make a real difference | 09 Aug 2006 01:57 GMT | 15 |
I've never driven an AWD car and i'm considering the Impreza 2.5i wagon for the AWD. Does the AWD really make a considerable difference on snow and ice? (Note - I won't be using snow tires - just all seasons)

| Check engine light 1998 legacy brighton (need new plugs/wires/distr. rotor and cap?) | 08 Aug 2006 19:58 GMT | 6 |
Thanks in advance for any help with this. Friday I drove my car car to a train parking lot to leave if for the weekend. When I started it up, it ran a higher rpm range than I have noticed it doing before but then backed off. I figured that it must just be some sort of warming up

| Air filter for 2005 Legacy 2.5i | 08 Aug 2006 15:42 GMT | 3 |
Can someone let me know the cross reference for the Subaru Engine Air filter? I had seen in a FRAM reference that it's a CA4309. This is *not* the correct one (not even the same size). I also see that WIX has an air filter (#46914). FRAM also has a CA9113, but I'm not 100% sure

| Subwoofer connector pinout | 08 Aug 2006 13:34 GMT | 11 |
I replaced the stock radio in my '99 Outback a year or so ago, and it sounds great. However, while doing a major cleaning last week I noticed that the subwoofer is silent. BTW, the sub is a module under the driver's seat, complete with amp and

| Excessive lifter noise | 07 Aug 2006 07:50 GMT | 4 |
I have a 1994 Subaru Legacy with the 2.2L engine that, has excessive lifter ticking on the passenger side. It seemed to occur after an oil change at the local tire store. Has anyone been through this? All levels are fine, no leaking, and I can't adjust the valve lash as the ...

| Expected Life of Sooby Suspension & Steering | 07 Aug 2006 02:11 GMT | 9 |
I've got an almost 10 yr old 97 Brighton Wagon with 144k mi. Never replaced anything in the steering, suspension (or drive train). And as far as I can tell, don't need to. Is this unusual, or can I expect many more miles before something goes?

Just started... All the lights work fine when the ignitiion is on, but with the ignition off and key out, whether the light switch is in full on, parking lights only or full off, the running lights all stay on. The

| Imprezza 2002 | 06 Aug 2006 08:06 GMT | 2 |
I purchased a used one with 32,000+ miles in March - automatic trans. I had owned my Saab 900 for 15 years - too expensive to continue with). I find the transmission to be less than smooth - annoying. The body seems so much more cheaply put together than the old Saab. Is this ...

| 2003 VDC Front Differential | 06 Aug 2006 06:09 GMT | 2 |
My wife's '03 VDC spewed differential fluid out of the front differential, thankfully only 20 miles into her cross country trip. She took it to a nearby lube outfit who were able to tell her that the transmission fluid was OK, but the differential was down. They topped
