My "new" '90 legacy AWD wagon feels like I'm driving a row boat in moderate seas :) Are struts a DIY? What is a decent strut? Don't need racing parts but don't want crap that only lasts 20k either. Thanx

| Maintenance Schedule | 03 Aug 2006 22:28 GMT | 6 |
I took my 2006 OB in at 3000 miles for the initial, and, got a sticker saying to bring it back at 6000 miles, not 7500. I asked why, and, was told that the schedule is wrong, and, it's not every 3750, but, every 3000 miles. I know THAT'S not true, but, are they just trying to rip ...

| Subaru weird idle? | 03 Aug 2006 19:24 GMT | 6 |
I have never owned a subaru before, but i noticed at stop lights, when the car is idleing, the engine sits at around 1000 for second or too, then slowly drops down to 750 or so, then something clicks and it goes back up to 1000 again, and this keeps repeating.

I am working on an '02 WRX w/ 60k miles. The car seems too lack power in mid-range RPM (3000-5000 RPM). It's also getting a trouble code of P0171 (bank 1 too lean). The factory shop manual has a troubleshooting checklist for that code

| 02 Forester Auto Trans Filter | 03 Aug 2006 01:25 GMT | 5 |
When I had 30k miles on my '02 Subaru the dealer changed the trans fluid but he didn't change the filter. I'm doing the 60k miles myself and when I drain the fluid I'm going to change the filter too. Does it go on like an oil filter - lubricate the gasket and tighten about 1 to ...

| Pulling the mirror | 03 Aug 2006 00:35 GMT | 3 |
I'd like to pull both mirror and stalk out of a 99 Soob OB Wagon. I can get the mirror out with a 15mm Torx wrench, but I can't find the bolts that hold the stalk to the vehicle. I've tried moderate pressure on what looks like a plastic cap, but don't want to bend it too far ...

I am new to owning a subaru, having only owned hondas in the past. I have a 2000 legacy gt wagon 5-speed with 100,000 miles that I just purchased. It seems to be really slow in first and second gear, and I am wondering if the clutch is slipping, or the tranny is going.
