debating with myself if I should go with Mobil 1 5W-30 or Shell Rottela 5W-40. Both do not have a 'Energy Conserving II' label on it while Outback manual requires such. Manual says that you could use other oil of it complies with API SH.

My '05 Outback is constantly displaying 73 degrees as the outside air temperature, no matter how HOT or cool it actually is. Is the IAT (intake air temperature) sensor the same one that is used to display the outside air temperature? If so, I'm guessing that it was

My 12vdc power socket in the console is dead. The Dealer verified that the issue is with the socket itself and wants to charge $120 to replace it. I figure it cant be that hard, though I don't know how to take apart the console to get to the back of the socket.

My neighbor has a 2004 Outback 2.5L and it appears to be missing the fuel filter. Instead it has two "disc-like thingers". Now, the manual shows that this is what a "California" edition has, but the rest of the parts under the hood do not match this "california" edition... So ...

All, Blew the fuse that powers my Cig liter and the Mirrors. Replaced the fuse and now the power mirrors operate VERY slowly. Did I burn up the motors? Thought the fuses were supposed to protect them? Anything else possibly?
