| subaru outback 2002. 2.5L question | 25 Nov 2006 15:22 GMT | 1 |
I need an engine (NOT turbo) for Subaru Outback 5M/T 4WD 2457 cm3, year 2002, chasiss number starting with JF1BH9LJB26057000 and engine Number B576107. I need only the engine (the head and that part where cylinders are-main parts of engine), I don't need water pump etc.

| 06' WRX w/Autotrans | 25 Nov 2006 12:25 GMT | 16 |
Very slow and unpredictable downshifts especially from D to 3 when you would need it most like merging onto a freeway. I usually downshift it manually in advance if I think I'm might need some extra pull (and I'm talking conservative driving). I have heard this is common in ...

| Where's my oil going? | 25 Nov 2006 04:56 GMT | 6 |
Since switching to Catrol Syntec 10-30, I seem to be losing oil at about a 1/2 quart every two weeks. I know about average oil consumption but I never lost oil with dyno or syntec blend. I have no external leaks nor any smell of buring oil. Coolant looks good, no change in ...

| McPherson strut bearing failure | 25 Nov 2006 01:53 GMT | 4 |
Noticed a slight vibration sound when turning the wheel to the left moving slowly (fwd or reverse). Took to local Subaru dealer who diagnosed as strut bearing failure. After replacing it, I could feel the "roughness" between the race and bearings, so it was a problem.

| 1999 Forester Front Wiper Problem | 24 Nov 2006 18:21 GMT | 4 |
My 1999 Subaru Forester makes a loud slapping noise when the front windshield wipers are on. Also, the wipers don't always park in the same location. Sometimes are they are up a couple inches more than they should be from the bottom of the windshield. I tried replacing the

| Should I buy it? 1998 Legacy L w/ possible piston slap | 23 Nov 2006 19:47 GMT | 2 |
Thinking of buying a 1998 Legacy L Wagon with 158k and great body. The only issue is that it has an engine tick for about 5 minutes when cold starting. The mechanic at the dealer says he thinks it's from a piston slap. Most posts I've read on here and elsewhere deal with the 2.5L

| Options for tougher tire for 92 Legacy Wagon | 23 Nov 2006 17:32 GMT | 3 |

I am looking to install a aftermarket gauge pack on my 2002 Impreza which consists of a Oil Pressure, Water Temp and Voltmeter. I have installed the oil pressure gauge and am about to install the water temperature sensor. The problem that I have is that there's only 1

| Help me find unpaved roads | 22 Nov 2006 19:12 GMT | 4 |
I never have more fun than when I can take my Subaru on unpaved roads. The Subaru just seems at home there more than on paved roads. Unfortunately I live in Eastern MA and there are not too many unpaved roads in the area, at least that I know of. Any suggestions, my B9 Tribeca is ...

| engine hesitation | 22 Nov 2006 19:01 GMT | 6 |
I have a 1988 GL 1.8 SPFI 4WD wagon. In August I noticed that when the engine started up cold sometimes it would die or if I shifted it into neutral and let the clutch out that would be enough resistance to kill the engine.

| Newbie questions (Subaru wagons) | 22 Nov 2006 16:49 GMT | 3 |
I just looked at a 2007 Outback (base 2.5L, manual, ~19.5k) to replace my recently deceased Ford and I liked it, both the storage space and the ride and handling. Since I am a newbie with both Subies and AWD I thought I would ask a few stupid questions.

| Front Axle Shaft | 22 Nov 2006 02:39 GMT | 5 |
I have a 94 Legacy Station Wagon that has about 150k miles on it and still runs great, but I took it in to get the oil changed and was told that the front axle shaft was cracked and this sticky stuff was exposed. However, it was late in the day and the mechanics decided not

| Slight steering wheel shake | 22 Nov 2006 01:19 GMT | 7 |
2004 WRX STi: When I get to 80mph or so there's a slight shake in the steering wheel. Is this something I'd expect as being normal within the limits of wheel balancing, etc.? -- Mark
