Speaking of tires?13 Nov 2006 20:35 GMT8
When inflating tires to the recommended tire pressure 29/30, are these
numbers for cold tire pressure before the car is being driven, or after the
car has been driven?
Leaky fit between tires and aluminum rims13 Nov 2006 12:22 GMT7
I spent two years with some new tires that leaked, slowly at first but
increasingly as time went on, finally refilling them every two days.  A
local mechanic tried scrubbing the rims thoroughly and re-mounting the
tires.  That helped for a while, but eventually all of them leaked
2007 Outback Power Outlet13 Nov 2006 04:47 GMT1
My wife just purchased a very nice 2007 Outback wagon, LL Bean Edition.  The
power outlets all go dead when the car is shut off.  Is there any way to
make them "hot" all the time?
The problem is the cell phone is not getting enough "recharge" time with

My front diff fluid is leaking right after I had a new one installed(long
story) The fluid level is way past the high side of the dip stick. Could
this be leaking cause of high level?
02 Legacy Qs?12 Nov 2006 16:29 GMT8
We just picked up an 02 Legacy L Wagon with 77k on it.
So far, so good, but I do have a couple of questions:
The only thing that lights up on the driver's door is the power window
switch that says "AUTO" - should the mirror controls light up?  They

Timing Belt Luck?12 Nov 2006 10:44 GMT4
I've got a 96 Outback Legacy 2.5L with 193K miles, and everything I've
read seems to indicate that this is an interference type engine.  (I'm
not sure if I have that correct or not...)
A week ago, I was crusing at about 75 mph when "thump", the timing belt
Alarm Indicator Flashing - What to do?11 Nov 2006 07:32 GMT1
I have a Subaru 2001 Legacy L Sedan and when I returned to it tonight, the
alarm indicator was flashing. The good news is no damage... the bad news is
that I cannot reset it or turn the alarm on.
I have tried following the manual instructions of opening the door and going
Adding dual-zone climate control11 Nov 2006 03:17 GMT2
Does anyone know if it is possible to add dual-zone climate control to
a car (like upgrading your stereo to an alpine from the factory model)
aftermarket? are there better groups to check for that question?
thanks.
Transmission problems10 Nov 2006 15:40 GMT10
I have a '96 Outback 2.5, automatic transmission, that has developed
troubling symptoms in the last couple weeks:
1) AT Oil Temp light flashes for awhile when I turn the car on.
2) Difficulty shifting.  The shifter is harder to move than usual, and
2004 Transmission Filter10 Nov 2006 14:54 GMT2
My 2004 Forester is at the 30K major maintenance point and I intend to
perform all of the recommended items.  Unfortunately, I am having difficulty
located a  non-Subaru transmission filter (spin-on).  The only filters I
have found locally are by Wix and Hastings and are engine ...

Re: changing brake fluid10 Nov 2006 09:33 GMT5
In a thread some time ago there were those
who agreed that changing brake fluid by the book
was essential...and those who didn't.
This should settle it:
