2001 Forester Check Engine/Cat Conv Problems26 Jan 2007 16:32 GMT2
I have a 2001 Forester that I bought new with 101k miles and the check
engine light has been coming on since 91k. I've taken to the dealer
twice (91k and 101k) as well as a independent shop (97k).  The dealer
replaced the Knock Sensor and cleaned the Air Assist Valve (91k).  The
Cold-weather Stuff26 Jan 2007 10:36 GMT13
Greetings, all.
-10F this morning, here in central Minnesota. This is pretty much the
first *serious* cold of this wacky so-called winter. And neither of our
vehicles will start at all.
Front left brake sticking? 1986 GL Wagon 4WD 5spd. hill holder.26 Jan 2007 07:20 GMT4
I am having a problem with my left front brake making noise from time
to time, I took it to the Subaru guy here in Sacramento. He said they
were fine? It seems to make a scraping sound after the ebrake is
released and sometimes when I really press hard, it just sounds like I

Heated external mirrors on 2007 Forester25 Jan 2007 11:59 GMT6
The 2007 Forester brochure shows these as standard on the 2.5 XT Limited,
but, my wife just got a 2007 Forester 2.5 XT Limited, and, they were NOT
included.  Is there a screw-up, as, we've always gotten them on Subaru's...
Thanks.
changing rear brake pads - post mortem questions25 Jan 2007 04:48 GMT1
First I am really satisfied I did it on my own. Quite an easy procedure.
For the record - car has got 94K miles on it. Here are a few
highlights/questions:
1- in order to release the line pressure (enforced by ABS), I read
can not decide: Outback XT vs. Impreza WRX25 Jan 2007 04:25 GMT8
I plan to upgrade my car to either Outback XT vs. Impreza WRX Wagon
provided I find a good deal. I like more Impreza but wonder if spending
$4-5K more will not get me a better overall car. I do not need extra
space per say, but sometimes it is very useful as well some off road

2001 forester tail light assembly won't come off24 Jan 2007 23:26 GMT2
Hello. Need help with a 2001 forester tail light assembly. I have
removed 3 nuts in trunk but assembly seems to still be tight on the

attached to the body or something? Thanks.
Adding Horsepower!24 Jan 2007 23:11 GMT17
I got my 05 WRX 6 months ago and now I want to add some performance
parts. Where is a good place to start? Someone told me it's best to
start with the exhaust. That sounds good to me but, is that really the
best place to start? If so can anyone suggest some brands/models. I
aftermarket exhausts,  '99 Forester?24 Jan 2007 16:14 GMT2
Our 99 Fartster is just about due for a new exhaust system.  The heavy salt
use up here in winter corrodes the flanges on  the o.e.m. systems,  which
I'm told are very expensive.
If I have to replace the system,  I wouldn't mind going to an aftermarket
Subaru Forester Jan 03 Manual24 Jan 2007 13:07 GMT2
can anyone point me to a source for a manual for a Subaru Forester GT Jan
2003 ? All I can get is a Haynes manual only for 2.5l engines.
I would need at least the electrical wiring for this vehicle
Many thanks
