| Subaru should be the official car of winter. | 07 Jan 2007 21:58 GMT | 13 |
We just got dumped with about 8-12" of snow. I decided to take my daughter to visit grandma instead of snowblowing my driveway. The roads were still pretty ugly - I probably should have stayed home.

| 2000 Outback timing belt won't line up | 06 Jan 2007 21:20 GMT | 1 |
I am having trouble reinstalling the timing belt. I replaced it with a new one a few months ago when I replaced a bad head gasket, and had no problem lining up the camshafts, crankshafts, and the marks on the belt. Recently the car developed an oil leak around one of the

| 1999 Outback vibrations? | 06 Jan 2007 06:34 GMT | 5 |
I am planning to buy a used Subaru Outback, and got as far as taking a 1999 model in to a mechanic for prepurchase diagnostics today. The mechanic was worried about a vibration that shows up around 2000 rpms. It's kind of a steady hum, shakes the entire car, but fairly ...

I have a 2000 Subaru Legacy wagon, it is my very first car and it needs new tires. I've never bought tires before and no one in my family is particularly mechanical, so I need some help. So far what have been recommended to me by different mechanics are Goodyear Assurance Triple

| 92 Legacy - Where is the oil pressure sensor? | 06 Jan 2007 00:23 GMT | 11 |
1992 Subaru Legacy L wagon AWD non-ABS non-turbo I think my oil pressure sensor is on the fritz. The oil light came on so I figured that I was low on oil. Since I was driving, reading the oil level on the stick wasn't possible so I dumped in a quart of oil.

| on 99 Outback, how to remove spark plugs?? | 05 Jan 2007 12:43 GMT | 2 |
I just bought a 99 Outback, that needs new plugs and wires. I know about removing the battery, washer fluid container, and part of the air intake to gain access to the spark plugs. Having got that far, I can't pull the wire boot off the plugs. They must be the originals with 149K

| larger battery in wrx? | 05 Jan 2007 03:49 GMT | 16 |
The battery in my 2002 wrx is getting weak; the starter sometimes crank slow on cold mornings. I think I contributed to the battery's weakness by accidentally leaving the dome light on overnight once in a while. Anyway, I believe the battery is size "group 35". Has anyone managed ...

| Trade-in and Added Security | 05 Jan 2007 03:48 GMT | 4 |
I was in the process of trading-in a 2006 Outback 3.0 VDC that I'd purchased Added Security (7/100,000, $100 deductible) on. The car has 11,500 miles on it. I paid the dealer (same one I am trading it in to) $1650, the price that I

What is the long term reliability, or perhaps the maintenance cost of running a high mileage Subary Legacy? I am looking at cars with over 150k miles, one of which claims a new transmission.

| Subaru 2000 Legacy Cold Start Problems | 05 Jan 2007 02:05 GMT | 3 |
The car was manufactured in Canada, however the engine was replaced locally before i bought it. My understanding is that it is a 2.5L single cam. During warm weather the engine runs great. At 30 degrees it fires irratic and then starts. When it is in the throws of starting the

| Cost of 30k servicing for 2004 Forester | 04 Jan 2007 20:53 GMT | 17 |
I recently had the 30k servicing done by a local mechanic, who was recommended to me by my son. The reason I called him was that I was surprised by the $632 + tax price quoted to me by my local Subaru dealership. Anyway he charged me $220 incl tax. The disparity in
